She was scratched below the eye. The bottom lid is swollen and oozing. I am keeping it clean, treating with hydrogen peroxide and neosporin. She is also taking an antibiotic. I tried warm compresses last night. Should I continue in the same manner or do you recommend something else?

Posted on 2008/09/25 by DUSTIN MCFARLANDI took my dog into Petco, to be groomed yesterday morning. When we pick them up everything appeared fine, until closer inspection. I noticed my dogs eye was weeping a lot on one side, I called the groomer and she new which eye it was and said it happening a home? Later in the conversion she asked if was bleeding... I thought that was strange. I few hours later I realize he was excessively pawing his eye, thats when i know it happening at the groomers. Because I would have noticed it, he would have been doing it earlier at home. Posted on 2008/09/23 by Donna DI took my dog to a new doctor on Saturday because Molly's doctor could'nt see her until Monday. When I got there they did an exam and then gave her a shot and some cream for her eyes, then I took her back on Monday because she was not any better and looking not so good. They again checked her out then he called another doctor in cause he did'nt know what was wrong, they decided to give me two medications and to still use the cream. Now I am taking her back again first thing tomorrow because she is now hurting, crying, her eyes are shut her third eye lids are hanging and red, she is swollen around the one eye, and everytime she so much as grazes by something she yipes. Runny Eyes and Excessive Scratching on Snout
Posted on 2008/09/18 by Lisa BenoitBuster is a Bullmassive/Shepard Mix about 12 years old... Just recently he has been itching his eyes and snout excessivly. He has accumulated excessive eye discharge (sleepers/boogers) which I clean out usually every other day. His eyes are reddened around the crevice of his eyes as well as above his snout from the excessive scratching. I have bathed him with hartz shampoo (as I have always done) and ensured he had no fleas or ticks. What's wrong w/my Buster?

very scared
Posted on 2008/09/14 by marilyn dayhi, this will be long, but i am scared. my pug has been fine until this friday. she came in heat around aug. 7, tried to keep her and male pug seperated. my son let them both out at the same time to go to take care of normal business when we got home. this was aug. 12 and i caught them. everything has been fine till now. first notice small clear wet spots on floor with a blood clot in them. four on one day, two the next day. she was still happy and full of energy. then noticed she was trembling, and then there was urine in blood. at first she dranked alot, now the only thing i can get her to drink is watered down milk with a egg in it.(i hope this safe) lost her appetite ...

My cat has an eye that is crusty and swollen. He also has many large mats in his fur that I cannot get rid of. Will his eye clear up on its own and how can I get rid of these mats, they have become very dirty.

Weight loss and swollen legs and ocassional cough
Posted on 2008/08/25 by M.E. LangleyAbby appears to have lost weight in the last 2 or 3 weeks, yet her front legs appear to have swollen. Her eyes also have had lots of yucky matter that I wipe out once or twice a day. She cough ocassionally, but not excessively. The vet recommended switching from Beneful because of my other dog licking a lot, he thought it might be a reaction to the colors in it. They had been on half and half of beneful and iams rice and lamb for the last couple of weeks. I've gone back to just beneful, because Beau didn't noticably change his behaviour, and Abby was losing so much weight.

Eye Swollen Shut
Posted on 2008/08/25 by UserMy 3 year old chihuahua has always had runny eyes and tear stains, but today when I got home her left eye was swollen shut and had a lot more tears than usually dried up under that eye. I can tell it's hurting and bothering her. The vet offices are already closed for today so what can I do until I can get her to one?
