  • pda cure

Hi, I have a 3 week old female pug. She was diagnosed with patent ductus arterious. I was told the only option for her is surgery wich cost about $2,000.00. I was reading about rimadyl and how it can help with pda. Is this an option I can try for my puppy?

Over the last two days my 9 year old aussie has become extremely lethargic with no appetite. No signs of diarreah or any other outwards symtoms. Should I get her to the vet ASAP or see if it will pass in the next couple of days? Any ideas? I am worried!! Thank You Maureen

  • My 12 yr old sweet ol boy has been feeling really bad, he is lethargic, w0n't sit, only lies on his side. won't walk, eat (only selective foods like a hotdog or a piece of chicken etc.)His bones are starting to show. He has a leaky discharge from his private and the same from his eyes (greenish), It's been a week now and he is no better. He's not throwing up and doesn't seem to be hurting just miserable (but i DON'T KNOW)We do not have the money to take to the vet and I know he is old, I just want to make sure he is not suffering. What should I do? I have been giving him 1 aspirin 2 times a day to help.

  • My loving cat, "Mr. Whiskers", for many months, has not been his active self. I have taken him to several vets wanting to know answers to his progressive symptoms: dragging of left hind leg (if he moves),staggering/falling, walking against walls, head tilt, hiding under the bed, lack of interest in play, lack of eating/urination, little meowing and more moaning, eye infection/lazy right eye, urination trouble (while I hold him) and seizures. Mr. Whiskers's vet placed him on 1/2 pill of Predisone every two days. In addition, I was told just to make him confortable since his demise could be near. Since his last seizure (about a month ago) Mr. Whiskers has b ...

  • I'm worried about my dog. She has arthritis in her hind legs and now even more so she has trouble standing and balancing. Last night she threw up and while the second amount was coming out she lost her balance and had trouble standing once again. Also last night she had diarrhea for several hours but was able to control it to make it outside. About 5 a.m. she drank a bunch of water, but she has had no appetitie since eating her dinner last night. She seems very weak. When she tries to stand her legs give out and she falls to the floor (but not all the time). Is her weakness due to the sickness from last night or could she be entering a different phase in her old ag ...

  • This is an update to the previous question that I had asked. Our Vet called and had posted Bubbles' X-rays to a website for other vets to look at. They said the Rad's showed no abnormalities and one tiny area where there is arthritis near the tip of her tail. Other than that it all looked great. Since my last question she has started dragging her left hind leg a little bit which prompted the X-rays which were taken on 3/11/08. And when we woke up this morning to give her a morning pain pill we noticed that she is starting to drag her other hind leg as well. Just not as bad as the left side. She has now stopped taking the Deramaxx and is now taking Tramadol 50mg every 8 h ...

  • My Bubbles (pit-hound mix) is 7 years old. Recently she saw our family vet and was given Deramaxx 75mg chewable tab, to be broken in half and given every 24 hours. Since she has taken this her condition has worsened. Our vet told us that she probably has mild arthritis and this should help. Now when she walks she take very tiny "baby steps" on her front legs. She also has been very withdrawn from doing anything at all and would rather lay on our bed all day and all night. she only comes out for water, food and bathroom. We havent been giving her the pills everyday. only when we see that her pain is elevated. We didn't want to have to use pain pills later in lif ...
