Elderly Cat Toilet Habits
Posted on 2009/02/10 by UserMy cat is almost 17 years old. Recently, he has begun urinating and defacating where he eats and sleeps. I was concerned that he was unable to get to his litter box, but he does OK for his age. I don't know if he is doing this because he is mad about something or if he is really sick. I've tried everything I know, multiple litter boxes in convenient locations, different foods, but nothing seems to stop this behavior. What do you recommend? I am really getting tired of constantly picking up and cleanng up behind him. Thanks

My other cat (2years, about 3) sometimes goes through seizures. I know when he is about to go through one, he starts acting very sweet and loving, and all he wants is pets, and he also rolls much much more. He does this about 3 or 4 days before he has to go though the seizure. At first, when he was younger, he would only go through one seizure, but now, sometimes he has to go through 2. I can't tell you the exactly when he is ganna go through one, but I do know when he is about to. When he is in his seizure I try to come him down, by petting him, telling him its going to be okay. Is this good? Also, when he is going through these seizures, he slobbers, and he urinates on...

I am feeding a stray cat that has cat flu, the vet has prescribed Norodine (I think that what it is called), but I cannot get the cat to take the tablets even crushed in food. I've tried all methods of hiding the tablet crushed in food (chicken, pilchards, etc) but nothing works. Has anyone any suggestions on how to get the tablet into him. This is the second time I've posted this question and had no response!

Vaccines and potential risk
Posted on 2009/02/15 by UserI have a 4 mo old fem Bloodhound who was given her 1st set of "puppy shots" (DHLPP) on Jan 6th. Four hrs later she was at a local vet office and was to undergo a required spay surgery. She was administed 4-5 diff drugs prior to rec'ing the anesthetic "gas". Two minutes into the anesthsia, the puppy's heart stopped & she stopped breathing. She was given CPR and atropine and eventually was resucitated. I arrived at the clininc 25 mins after the arrest only to find the puppy suffering from what appeared to be small "seizures". The vet said her behavior was simply her system "coming out of anesthesia" and she "should be...

Cat problem
Posted on 2009/02/15 by UserI woke this morning to my cat, thrashing around the bed making agressive noises. He then thrashed himself off the bed. We realised the bed was covered in his saliva. When he was on the floor the thrashing stopped and he stood on his front two legs making a raspy panting sound with his tounge poking out. After about 5 minuites he lay down and we noticed his pupils had almost fully dilated leaving very little visible Iris. After about half an hour we discovered he can still stand on his hind legs however he refuses to leave the spot on the floor where he first landed. He keeps crying out for seemingly no reason, often while purring, his pupils have now returned to...
