  • My dog is approx 16 y/o. He is part yellow lab and maybe chow or pit,(Vet said part german sheperd and y/lab but I don't see it) He has started having seazures (Falls down, Muscles get stiff, sometimes he cries out, pee's a little sometimes) about once every 3 to 4 weeks. Otherwise he has a good quality of life. #1 Vet said put him down cause of age, but he is still in pretty good shape, (only had conversations with, as he knows Im disabled and on SS and cant afford alot) He also told me it would be expensive to find out what the issue is!! So the main question I have is there something HOMEOPATHIC, or a old wifes tale cure I might try? My dad is telling me to mix a tabl ...

  • Weird behavior

My pug tends to do a weird bitting...almost chatter like thing with his mouth. I tend to see him doing this only when he's been smelling something (like the bed, couch, etc.) for a awhile. He'll then start to do that weird chattery thing until he starts to force excess liquid/saliva (i think it's saliva...) onto the object he is smelling. The smell almost smells like urine. What is he doing, and is this a sign of an infection??

  • Drooling

In the last few hours a have noticed that he has been drooling excessively, especially since he never really drools. What could cause this and what are some things that i should look out for? Also there is a spot on his hind leg that i think is a hot spot. How do i treat those?

  • My 12 yr old sweet ol boy has been feeling really bad, he is lethargic, w0n't sit, only lies on his side. won't walk, eat (only selective foods like a hotdog or a piece of chicken etc.)His bones are starting to show. He has a leaky discharge from his private and the same from his eyes (greenish), It's been a week now and he is no better. He's not throwing up and doesn't seem to be hurting just miserable (but i DON'T KNOW)We do not have the money to take to the vet and I know he is old, I just want to make sure he is not suffering. What should I do? I have been giving him 1 aspirin 2 times a day to help.

  • WHAT HAPPENED

it was hot today and my dog was wrestling with another.shortly afterward he seemed like he couldnt find his balance, started drooling (he never drools) staggered back and forth for a bit, i picked him up and he was still trying to walk in place for a bit, walked in circles, knocked over his water bowl while walking slowly, slightly sideways, and seemed to be somewhere else. i thought he was seriously dying, but shortly thereafter, he started playing and running around normal. i found him on the highway about 6 months ago, and noone knows what breed he is, but is apparently about 12 or 13 years old.

  • My loving cat, "Mr. Whiskers", for many months, has not been his active self. I have taken him to several vets wanting to know answers to his progressive symptoms: dragging of left hind leg (if he moves),staggering/falling, walking against walls, head tilt, hiding under the bed, lack of interest in play, lack of eating/urination, little meowing and more moaning, eye infection/lazy right eye, urination trouble (while I hold him) and seizures. Mr. Whiskers's vet placed him on 1/2 pill of Predisone every two days. In addition, I was told just to make him confortable since his demise could be near. Since his last seizure (about a month ago) Mr. Whiskers has b ...

  • Our 2.5 yr old beagle mix Daisy snorts and does hacking coughs occasionally. But sometimes, she'll go into a licking frenzy, snort (not reverse sneezing), swallow, and spit up white mucus. During this frenzy she will eat any fuzz or anything else on the floor (something she doesn't normally do). It's almost like she's trying to clear her nose of mucus and swallow it. If I put her in her crate she will lick the floor of it or the sides. If I hold her she'll try and lick/eat my hair or just lick the air. These episodes can go on for hours, sometimes ALL night long, switching from her constantly licking to hacking coughing (like she's got something in her throat). We have d ...

  • Please help!

My 3 year old black lab has had excessive drooling, swollen eyes, not able to chew his food, change in bark, not breathing well, and he has been hacking for about 2 weeks. I took him to the vet last week and they said he had kennel cough and gave him antibiotics and cough supressants. It seems like his symptoms are getting worse, could it be something else?
