BLOOD IN STOOL
Posted on 2009/10/18 by UserHello, Sorry for the long post but we probably need to explain the whole story. We have a 1 year old Bengal boy and 8.5 months old Bengal girl. The boy has never had any stomach or other issues since we got him. The girl, has had soft poops since we got her. She is the most energetic creature we've ever seen and has a very healthy appetite! Apart from her soft stools she is healthy and happy. They are both indoor cats and go out only in the garden with us. She was tested for all sorts of different parasites just after we got her. All the tests were negative and we were given some antibiotics and recommended to experiment with food in case she was allergic to some...

Sickly puppies of 1 year in age
Posted on 2009/10/20 by UserI have two dogs, a chihuahua and a miniature pinscher. The MinPin, got sick last week with explosive diarrhea. I took him to the vet and they said that whatever was wrong, it wasn't a parasite or any other thing she could find. She gave him some medicine in hopes to help, and also recommended feeding him rice. Yesterday, my Chihuahua started exhibiting similar problems, with explosive diarrhea. Which he has had more control over than the MinPin. I started him on the same medication and food, but noticed that by this evening he was bleeding from his rectum. I am not sure if this would fall under a bleeding rectum or blood in his stool. I don't have a lot of money so...

Concerns about new puppy
Posted on 2009/10/20 by UserI adopted an 8 wk old beagle/boston terrier mix yesterday around 6pm. Before leaving the shelter, he was given oral dewormer & a 7-way vaccination. He was ok on the ride home & for several hours after. Had 1 normal BM on the ride home, but then around 9pm, he began having very watery BMs. Around 10pm, he began vomitting. Had 3 episodes of vomitting over the next 4 hours. He's kinda shaky & scared (which I partly exptected, being in new surroundings). He hasn't eaten a thing since I got him & has only drank from his water bowl 3 times. He hasn't vomitted since 2am, but then again, he probably has nothing left in his stomach. All he's done since 7pm is...

Our dog has HOD -
Posted on 2009/10/23 by UserFreddie, our 6-month-old Irish Setter has HOD. He has been sick about three weeks. He's getting Rimadyl for the pain, but it doesn't seem to be working as well as it did at first. Do you have any suggestions? Since starting the Rimadyl he has really bloody stools, almost liquid. He has never had parasites. I had our vet do a fecal lab check to make sure. Also, should we give him his heartworm pill (Iverhart) and his flea treatment (Advantage) while he is so sick? Thank you!

Golden Retriever ill
Posted on 2009/10/26 by UserMy 8 year old golden retriever has had diarrhea for 48 hours and vomited 6 hours ago. He still wants to eat but I am afraid to feed him anything but water. I cannot think of anything he could have eaten to cause his illness as he is walked daily by me on a leash and my home is very clean. What should I do?

Metacam and Clavubactin
Posted on 2009/10/29 by UserHi My cat (Max)has recently been hospitalized for a UTI. The vet put a catheter in him and kept him overnight. There were no stones and no crystals. Max had been passing small amounts of urine prior to taking him to the vet but the vet informed me that his bladder was full and that he required urgent catheterisation. He has had these infections approx 4 times previous but this is a new vet and I did feel confident with him. In previous times, Max was given a cortisone and antibiotic injection and then follow up antibiotics and the matter resolved itself with being catheterised and having a lenghty stay at the vets. This time time he was given Clavubactin 90mg 2 x daily...

Posted on 2009/11/02 by Userhi, i am hoping you can help me. i have multiple cats (7) in my household (all indoor). about 6 months ago, after i had been buying good quality cat food at a discounted price, i was no longer able to. since i couldnt afford to buy the quantity i needed for that many cats, i had to switch to dry food bought in the grocery stores. only one of my cats, a 7 yr old male ragdoll has had diarhhea. i took him to the vet, all tests were ran and they came back negative. at the time i didnt think of the food. now he is resorting to using anything other than the litter pan, even after he is the first one in it. do you have any suggestions on what dry food is of good quality to...

Sick Kitten
Posted on 2009/11/07 by UserWe have a 7 month old male nuetered kitten who has recently stopped eating and cleaning himself and he is very lathargic. We have tried giving him 2 different kinds of dry food and 2 different kinds of wet food. We also took stool samples to the vet. When nothing helped we also took him to the vet and the vet game him a shot for nausea and anti inflammitory and also gave us an oral anti nausea medication to give him at home. He is still not looking any better and not eating but he is drinking water. We have 2 other cats that are doing fine. It looks like it hurts his teeth to eat but we have checked his teeth and they look fine. We are getting very worried about...
