  • dog tooth loss

hello, my girlfriend noticed that her 6 month old puppy had developed poor eating habits before she discovered that the dog had lost a tooth. We curious to what may have caused this. I believe that this could have been caused by the lack of nutrients the dog is receiving but thats just my guess. Please, if you can help determine what the problem is can give any advice we would appreciate it, thank you.

  • Siezures/congenital?

We have a bichon frise who is now 5 months old. We have always known him to be very quiet and tired since we got him at 9 weeks old. The vet said that it was normal that puppys sleep alot.We also noticed in his mouth his bottom canine teeth are making holes in his gums on the roof of his mouth, the vet said wait to see what the adult teeth do.Now about 1 and a half months ago I noticed him bobbing his head just a few times up and down maybe once a day(that i noticed) now to present he bobbs his head, front legs while in a seated position and falls over and just lays there. This is progressing to while he is standing, sitting,in your arms, and at least 7 or more times a day....

  • Back legs not strong

Hi. I have a Chow-Chow mix, 10 years old, who since late Wednesday night has been having problems walking . His back legs don't appear to be strong enough right now... he can stand but only for a few moments. He still has an appetite and still drinks water. He has only gone partially to the bathroom the last few days (today he pooped, but while lying down). He has been taking pills since late last week for his kidney's. He went for a walk on Tuesday in the park. Today we started giving himTramadol which we were told will help relieve his inflamation and pain. What should I do? Should I seek further help for him? Thank you.

  • Low Red blood Cells

My dog is really sick and the vets aren't sure what he has. He has had numerous blood tests done and nothing seems to explain what this is. Everything is normal except his body is not producing red blood cells and his count is really low.he will need a transfusion if it gets any lower. Any idea what it is? Is it treatable? They don't know how much time he has.

  • Cancer

She is 11 yrs.old. has a lump on her nipple, aspiration done, cancer but non agressive. Vet wants to take out all the glands (if the cancer has spread), pull a baby tooth which never fell out, clean all her teeth and spade her (property terminology for a femail dog?), She weights 4 lbs. and is smaller then a teacup size dog. She is a mini-pin. I want to just take out the lump and leave her be. She is too tiny and too old to have this all done at once. Vet is insisting in the surgery. Center has a state and county lien so I suspect that they want the money and have no interest in the dog but I could be wrong.

  • unknown diagnosis

This question has stumped our family vetinarian. Madison is a 7 1/2 year old spayed Labrador mix, currently diagnosed with hip displasia in both hips (bad on one side, fair on the other), and incontinence. She has been prescribed Proin (25mg, 2x/day), and a glucosamine/chrondroitin/MSM combination (500 mg/200 mg/50 mg, 2x/day) for 2 years and tolerating that very well. On Tuesday, August 18, we noticed her drooling and unwilling to close her mouth. On Wednesday, August 19, we took her to our family vet. Dr. Kage examined her and took skull x-rays. When she and her 2 fellow doctors at the clinic couldn't determine a reason, we sent the x-rays to a radiologist...

  • I have a 19 year old cat. He is anemic as well as underweight. Due to his age, I am not going to do a lot of expensive treatments, ie: IV fluids to flush his kidneys and lower is BUN. Right now he will eat regular canned tuna, but not moist cat food. He will try something once, then turn his nose up at it after that. What can I feed him, that is moist and that will give him the nutrients he needs?
