White and Red Blood Cell Count
Posted on 2009/05/14 by KristyMy poor kitty has more issues. Schooley finally had a dental yesterday. I had to save up for $800. He had dental xrays, upper and lower canine teeth pulled on the left side and one lower front tiny tooth. Upper canine was already broken ( he came that way) but was worn down, the lower canine was totally loose as was the tiny front tooth. He had plaque on the left side on most teeth and the jaw bone on that side was a little infected. Was given a convenia inj and has buprenex at home. Past history: he has allergies and a pellet in his hip muscle. Schooley has been on prednisolone 5mg once daily since Feb 09 and that helps a lot for both. Did not get him allergy...

Cat diet post oral surgery?
Posted on 2009/05/18 by KatieTen days ago my 6 year old cat had 5 teeth pulled. Four pre-molars on the bottom, and one on top. Naturally she couldn't eat her dry food, so I have been feeding her plain tuna (she won't touch most canned cat food). I'm wondering how long I should anticipate her needed the soft food? I don't want to push her back to the dry food too soon, but I don't want her to become a food snob and refuse to ever go back to dry, either. Not sure if it's helpful at all, but we do have one other cat in the house. Their food dish is always filled with their dry food, and they just eat when they're hungry.

Can you help me help Willy?
Posted on 2009/05/24 by UserMy 6 yr old chihuahua "willy" was sick last week with a large bump under his right eye. I took him to the vet and she said it was probably a tooth abscess. She put him on antibiotics and scheduled him for an abstraction. The antibiotics seem to make him feel better but the bump stayed. After 5 days the bump seemed to rupture on the outside of his face leaving a small bloody spot but apparently didn't drain because the bump is still there although not as big. Is this a tooth abscess or not? The abstraction will be very expensive and I want him to get well but don't want unnecessary surgery or expense.

My guinea pigs teeth are chiped
Posted on 2009/06/17 by BevI noticed a few days ago that one of Ellies bottom teeth had chipped away halfway down, ive heard that their teeth can sometimes be overgrown, so i was just about to ring the vet yesterday and noticed that her other bottom tooth had been chipped down to the same level as the other one, she can still eat, but i am worried if she is in any pain with it. should i still take her to the vet?
