My black lab after coming back from a morning walk has been vomititng and eating alot of grass from 10am to 1 pm. She has stopped now but is acting very lethargic, and not closing her eyes when she is resting. She also has a dry nose and is breathing very heavily. Any advice or information would be great. Thanks

snotty nose seems worse after antibiotics
Posted on 2009/10/27 by AmyWe just got our first dog -- a shelter pup -- and took her to the vet on Saturday. She came back with a clean bill of health, with the exception of having a little respiratory infection. We started her on antibiotics on Saturday morning and have been giving them to her twice a day, but it seems like her nose is getting snottier -- there's at least more discharge. She isn't coughing or sneezing as much, but with her being my first dog, I've got new mama anxiety. Is it normal for her snotty nose symptom to increase while the infection clears? Thanks in advance.

My rat terrier has a cough, but no other symptoms. When she coughs, I've given a bit of honey and massaged her throat and she stops for many hours. Is this a sign of something possibly in her throat? I noticed the dogs brought in nuts from the yard two days ago, but don't know if they actually ate any.

Please advise
Posted on 2009/10/27 by SujataMy 5 mo old golden retriever is not doing well lately. He is coughing occasionally. He is up to date with bordatella shots. He did play with another G. Rtriever dog with allergies. Also, I had to induce vomiting using salt (big mistake) to throw up what later turned out to be a big acorn, after which I had to rush him to the vet to be treated for salt poisoning. He had been coughing lightl before the acron episode. I am really concerned about this little kid. Please advise.

Seems to be sick wondering if maybe it is the flu?
Posted on 2009/10/30 by natalieA week ago my cat was sick for a couple of days. She laid in her bed and slept for almost a day and half refusing to eat at all and drank very little. Then she starting eating and drinking again and she is pretty much herself. However, when she meows there is hardly any sound, and she coughs and gags quite a bit. She brings up yellowish mucus at least once or twice a day for the last two days. We thought maybe she had the flu because my husband had it. Is that possible or is this something more serious? She is only a year and half and is up to date on all her shots.

HACKING COUGH
Posted on 2009/11/09 by UserMy female, 6 years old, short white hair chiuhuahua moved from sunny California to very chilly Maryland two weeks ago. The first week she was fine, but the second week she started coughing, and hacking up small amounts of white foam (sometimes). She is only around my other chiuhuahua and he is fine so far. She is never around other dogs. She is eating, drinking, going the bathroom normally. It's been 8 days that she is still coughing and hacking and lately without any white foam coming out. she gets up on her paws and coughs; never lying down. I can somtimes hear a little wheezing as well. I only take her out just to do her bathroom duties and quickly bring her in...
