My 8 yr Burmese (neutered declawed male) has, for the last 1 1/2 yrs been showing signs of being dizzy or wobbly - appetite is good & he grooms & toilets normally, last blood work was normal, temperature is normal but he has this worsening problem with walking in circles, leaning against the wall, seems confused and dizzy and falls over from time to time, it's gotten much worse the last 2 weeks - saw vet today who says its neurological, probably something in his brain (lesion, scar, inflammation or tumor)I can't afford $2000 for an MRI - I'd appreciate any information or insights you can give & recommendations on what I should do?

Avocado ingestion
Posted on 2008/02/02 by UserMy Golden Retriever got a hold of a sandwich with avocado slices at lunch and now (6 hours later) she is refusing dinner. She has appeared to be trying to vomit. How concerned should I be at this time?

liver enzymes
Posted on 2008/02/22 by TeresaWilson had some sort of seizure the other day where he was unable to breathe and became very lethargic. We took him immediately to our vet. By the time we got there he was doing a bit better. He has some sort of a tracheobronchitis. As a beagle he is always out sniffing on the run-no matter how cold its been. He had taken some blood tests and all came back well but he said the liver enzymes were elevated-not high-but more than what is normal. What could that mean exactly??

Kennel Cough
Posted on 2008/02/24 by UserMy family adopted a 6 yr old male Cocker Spaniel named Bailey from an animal shelter in December 07. Checked by a vet, he was diagnosed with a 2-3/6 heart murmur and had kennel cough prior to the adoption. The cough has persisted for almost three months. A variety of antibiotics have been prescribed including Amoxicillin, Tetracycline 250 MG, Cephalexin 500 MG, and lastly Baytril #68. Lasix 50 MG was also given for the heart murmur to see if the cough was heart related. There was little improvement with any of the treatments. The cough is productive and he coughs up phlegm but usually swallows it. It is yellowish in color. Sometimes his breathing seems labored as if he's...

Fading Kitten Sydrome
Posted on 2008/03/23 by UserMy kitten Sierra was taken to the vet on 3/20/08, and I was told that she had FIP. I've done my research and talked to the vet and assistance, but at 3pm today,& at 8pm, she got up to walk and her back legs were not working properly. does this mean that she is worse then what I am thinking, and should I be prepared to put her down? I have given the antibiotic, supplement, sugar water, and the soft kitten food the way I was told, and she has really been eating well. I am just really worried now with this new problem..Thank You... "Sierra's Mom"

Still having problems with Daisy
Posted on 2008/06/14 by ErinOur 2.5 yr old beagle mix Daisy snorts and does hacking coughs occasionally. But sometimes, she'll go into a licking frenzy, snort (not reverse sneezing), swallow, and spit up white mucus. During this frenzy she will eat any fuzz or anything else on the floor (something she doesn't normally do). It's almost like she's trying to clear her nose of mucus and swallow it. If I put her in her crate she will lick the floor of it or the sides. If I hold her she'll try and lick/eat my hair or just lick the air. These episodes can go on for hours, sometimes ALL night long, switching from her constantly licking to hacking coughing (like she's got something in her throat). We have...
