My dog is constantly squatting and cannot seem to have a bowl movement for days at a time. His rear-end is swollen and he urinates uncontrollably. I have given him laxatives but it only seems to cause more problems. Does he have a colon problem?

Constipation
Posted on 2008/12/13 by UserMy three old Pit Bull Terrier cannot have a bowel movement. I noticed it this morning when she was trying to go but could not. She is sensitive around her tail area and is keeping her tail tucked. She has not chewed anything up that I am aware of and she has not eaten any food other than her normal Iams dog food.

Orphaned 3-week old kitten
Posted on 2008/10/25 by GinnyI found an abandoned kitten yesterday in the parking lot where I work, she isn't very old, maybe 3 to 4 weeks at the most. I was bottle feeding her yesterday and part of today. I have gotten her to lap some kitty formula from a saucer this evening. I have been rubbing her genital area with a damp washcloth trying to stimulate her to go to the bathroom, so far I have gotten her to pee twice. She hasn't had a bowel movement. She's still a little wobbly on her feet but she is getting stronger. How can I get her to have a bowel movement? I'm afraid she's gonna get constipated

my dog is sick
Posted on 2009/02/22 by UserMy dog has been sick for about two weeks. Eats very little. Has trouble pooping really seems to be straining when she goes. I have given her pumpkin to try to help didn't work. She drinks a great bit of water. When you look at her gums in her mouth they are very pale white no red or pinkish color. Also when I look at her belly very pale no pink in color. At a loss here any ideas. It's more than constipation, its not diabetic. HELP

V. sick cat on a Sunday - what to do?
Posted on 2009/02/01 by UserIt's Sunday morning, and my cat, age 20, has been barely eating or drinking on her own, for the past four days. Since Wednesday, she has had constipation, lethargy and weight loss. She got 100 units of IV fluid at a vet all day Friday, and then got 50 ml subQ fluids & an enema at the e.r. vet Saturday night. We don't know why she isn't eating/has constipation. She pooped a about 2 inches of stool, not much. Blood tests came back normal for kidneys; calcium is clearly high though not off the charts. The doctor on Friday thinks she might have a tumor in abdominal region, based on exam and a fuzzy and inconclusive x-ray. My question: I'm syringing food and water,...

5 week old puppy help!!!
Posted on 2008/08/30 by Userwe found some lab puppies about 5 weeks old in an ad online, they did not have a mother around and the men who took care of them were always working. we took one and he seems to be doing fine, although i am worried about him being away from his mother so long. yesterday he pooped 2-3 times(we just got him yesterday) today he is on a regular 4 times a day feeding schedule of puppy chow softened with puppy formula. today he only pooped once and it was a very little bit. I am worried that he could be sick, also when can we get him shots?
