Our 13 year old sheltie seemed to have injured a paw and has been limping on it hard for 2 days. Yesterday she became immobile. It seems unlikely that her muscles would have atrophied so quickly. Now she has trouble breathing a times and is totally unable to lift herself up. She is able to take some licks of water if I hold her up, but has not eaten any food and hasn't peed outside, even if I hold her up. I have not idea what could be wrong, but it seems very bad for her. Do you think she is in any pain?

Dachsund needs help!
Posted on 2009/02/01 by UserWe have a one year old dachsund. She's been in good health until the other morning we noticed she was limping on one of her front legs. Twelve hours later she couldn't stand up at all or walk/move. She looks ill, and doesn't really have a want for food or water. She wines sometimes, and shakes sometimes. She literaly won't move, and isn't the same dog. I don't think this has anything to do with leg injuries. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi my cat seemed to go off her food and just seem unwell, so i took her to the vets, and they told me she had back pain and needed her teeth cleaning, so they checked her blood as she is 13, and cleaned her teeth, and was put on metacam for 7 days, she seemed to be fine eating well and happy, but drinking a lot. When i stopped giving her metacam, again she started to look lethargic and go off her food, so i gave her some more metam last night, but this morning she dosnt seem to be able to walk, is rapid breathing and has vomited some white froth, she lies flat out on her side. What do you think has happened to her?

Why did my dog die?
Posted on 2009/02/09 by UserI came home and found blood mixed with a clear substance on the floor in several places. He was in his bed dead with a lot more blood and the same clear substance from his mouth. He did have a problem with protien in his urine. However, he was fine the night before and showed no signs of being sick at all. Except he did vomit a small amount of what looked like saliva. What do you think happened to him? I am really heartbroken. Fred

Immune deficiant dog having seizures
Posted on 2009/02/16 by UserMy 12 yr old dog had been diagnosed with an immune deficiancy disorder and suffers from chronic tooth infection. Now he is having grand mal seizures. Could the seizures be related to the teeth or could it be something else?

Falling over.dog.
Posted on 2009/03/04 by UserOur 11 year old mixed dog, part terrier, has recently for the last few months, had episodic seizures where he just falls over to the side and lays there for about 60 - 120 seconds , usually motionless, and sometimes with high cry of pain for 15 seconds. Then it stops, he gets up and walks around wagging tail like nothing happened. Vet took blood work for heart and valley fever. Negative. Has slight heart murmur. Sometimes falling and paralysis preceded by heavy panting, or rear leg shaking. Sometimes happens twice in a day. Overweight. Seems drink water a lot. Good appetite and otherwise active with walks, wagging tail, liking stomarch rubbed, eating, and...
