What's wrong with my cat
Posted on 2008/12/24 by UserMy cat has been acting odd lately: he wont eat or drink anything, hes lost a ton of weight, he is sneezing alot, and he just lays in the same spot all the time and wont move. That has been going on for about a week. Then this morning at 6, he was meaowing really loudly as if in pain(he hardly ever meows), so i picked him up and brought him into my room, he has a bloody nose, and he cant stand or walk witout his legs giving out from under him. What's wrong with him?

Cat Question
Posted on 2009/01/06 by UserPooky is 13 years old and I need to know what to do. First, let me say that he is VERY afraid of car rides, he foams at the mouth, pants, etc. so a ride at this point would not do any good as he would not survive the trip. For the past couple of weeks, I've noticed a rapids weight loss. Two days ago, he became lethargic, would only eat a little tuna & juice off my fingers few times/day, is still drinking a little water and using the cat litter a couple times a day(no poop for two days since he isn't eating solids), but now walking to the water bowl or for more than 5 or 6 ft. he is exhausted to the point of collapse. thought I had lost him a couple times today...

My 17 year old Westie has been prescribed Rimadyl for his arthritis but since he has been on this drug he has become restless, has started weeing more and has collapsed twice. I decided to stop the Rimadyl after reading of the numerous adverse comments and he has been somewhat better. Is there anything safer than Rimadyl that I can give him. I would add that my Vet prescribed this drug without doing a blood test and from what I have read, Rimadyl should not be given if there is any form of kidney trouble.

My Cat is Sick And I am EXTREMELY Worried!!!
Posted on 2009/01/24 by PrestonMy cat is very sick. He is an outside male cat. He has had diarrhea for a while but that was all. We thought it was just his diet so we changed it. Today when I went out to play with him he was having trouble moveing his back legs and was falling all over the place. He was Just fine yesterday. This has happened before. Most of our outside male cats will just suddenly get this to. They will suddenly get so worse that we are afraid to pick them up for fear of hurting them. Then they will nearly die. The within 24 hours of the worst of it they will be perfetly all right and will act like nothing happened. The sickness seems to only affect only our male outside...

Australian Cattle Dog Labored Breathing
Posted on 2009/01/28 by AlisonI have a 14 year old Australian Cattle Dog who recently suffered a bad reaction to some arthritis medication and began throwing up blood. She did this for two days (less blood on the second day, and we were thinking stomach ulcer). We took her to the vet, and are now giving her a subcuetanous injection of a stomach antacid and an injectable antibiotic so she doesn't catch something else because she's so weak. The vet also gave us special high calorie adult dog food (4 cans the size of catfood cans), which as of two days after the vet visit (today), she has eaten all of (a few tablespoons every hour). We have also been giving her unflavored pedialite for electrolytes....
