This is not about Hank. My sister has a young male lab mix that tries to vomit, passes out and then gets up like nothing happened. She has been to 2 vets. The last one took x-rays and the doc said he may have a bone or piece of metal in his stomach. They put him on some sort of stomach medicine and antibiotics. My sister followed him around for 5 days and to check his stool, but only found a few tiny bone pieces. She doesn't feel like she is getting the answers she needs and is spending a ton of money with no results. Any suggestions?

My 12 1/2 year old lab/sharpei mix has started having seizures. She has had 4 in two days. I took her to my vet and they did blood work that came back negative for any issue. The vet thinks that the seizures could be caused by a tumor that is affecting her central nervous system. I don't want to put her through the process of an MRI -- she's already "freaked out" enough. Can you give me a second opinion? I'm really at a loss as to what to do. Thanks.

puppy failing
Posted on 2008/03/13 by UserI have a 3 month old chihuahua puppy that I adopted 2 weeks ago from a rescue shelter. He was great for the first few days and then started losing weight. I took him back to ask her for her advice and she sent him home with albon and amoxicillin and vitamins and asked me to keep her informed about him. I took him to the vet 2 days later and the vet told me to take him off the antibiotics and put him on a stronger one, to keep giving him the vitamins and Pedialyte as well. he''s also on hills science diet which I''ve been mixing with a little water and feeding with a syringe. He''s not eating or drinking on his own; everything he gets is with a syringe. He''ll walk a...

WHAT HAPPENED
Posted on 2008/07/10 by Chazit was hot today and my dog was wrestling with another.shortly afterward he seemed like he couldnt find his balance, started drooling (he never drools) staggered back and forth for a bit, i picked him up and he was still trying to walk in place for a bit, walked in circles, knocked over his water bowl while walking slowly, slightly sideways, and seemed to be somewhere else. i thought he was seriously dying, but shortly thereafter, he started playing and running around normal. i found him on the highway about 6 months ago, and noone knows what breed he is, but is apparently about 12 or 13 years old.

Cat emergency
Posted on 2008/09/10 by UserMy ten-year old grey tabby cat just threw up about an hour ago. Since then she's been lethargic. She's panting, her eyes are dialated and sometimes they roll back in her head. She also tips over easily. What could be causing this?

I am concerned over the way my male Pom has been walking. He fell coming in and going out of the house on the steps by the back door. He sems to walk ok at times, but other times, such as this morning, he was having difficulty walking in the yard. I notice that sometime his right leg will slip under him what can this be? I have left a message for his regular vet but since it is sunday, I have to wait.

Yesterday, I reluctantly had my dog nuetered. I brought him in at 8:30 am and went to pick him up at 5:30pm that afternoon. When they brought him out, he was still somewhat out of it. I even questioned whether he knew me or not. He had been through a lot and I just assumed he would snap out of it later in the night That he just needed more time to recover. The tech, at the last minute of me ready to take him, looked concerned and checked his gums for color then wanted the dr to check him one last time to be sure he was ok before I left. Well, he did and found he was bleeding internally as his gums were white. He told me thank god that the tech noticed this as he...
