Breathing

  • shaking, possible fever

A week ago my dog was released from the vetinarian hospital complete with sonograms and blood tests indicating an enlarged liver and spleen. The doctor said that his platelets were low in amount as well, but two days after being discharged from the hospital, we took him back to the hospital, and the doctor infromed us that his platelet levels were normal again. After recovering he was fine for the last two days, but today he showed symptoms of shaking and heavy breathing again. He's been taking the antibiotics "antirobe" and "baytril chewable", but he seems to be reverting back to his previous state. He also seems feverish; his ears are very warm....

my cat was in the dryer for about 5 min. we put alchohol on her ear tips and pads. She seems to be okay physically but wants to go outside. I am reluctant to let her out yet. Am I right? and also should i be looking for anything in particular now that the immediate crisis is over.

  • URI?Asthma? WHAT???

Sassy...Siamese/female/age 7...occasionally breathes noisely...not exactly wheezing; sounds almost like she's snoring??? She doesn't seem to have trouble breathing, I just HEAR her. I notice this when she's sitting quietly on my lap/dozing/content. She's always purred very quietly. She's had FLV vaccine {but is now due] almost everytime she's had Rabies/Distemper shots. Several months ago she had cold-like symptoms which lasted about 3 days, the she was fine. Could her breathing problems be URI? Allergies? Asthma? or IS this a breathing problem??? She seems fine...still plays/acts like a kitten in many ways...so what's up??? She is VERY important to us!!!

  • New Puppy needs help!

Hello, I just adopted a new puppy who has acquired hook worm. I brought him to the vet who put him on a 3 day deworming medication along with anti biotics and 7 days worth of prescription wet food. He finished the 3 day dewormer and today is his last application of the anti biotic. I'm still nervous about him because his stools haven't firmed up at all. I set another appointment for him today to go back to the vet for a follow up. I plan on feeding him some yogurt for the natural cultures and some canned pumpkin for the fiber for the rest of the week. Does anyone have any other suggestions that may help diet-wise? I am hoping for another three day dewormer or...
