No Longer eating
Posted on 2008/02/03 by HolliIiah is old and has been diagnosed with possible bladder carcinoma, arthritis, and cataracs. She has gone down hill quickly since Christmas and is no longer eating. This is very concerning because it is her favorite thing to do. I have tried canned food and nothing. Any suggestions. Also, she is in a great amount of pain in her neck and back from arthritis. Is there any pain releiver that is safe?

Mydog has been on Deramaxx for about 2 weeks--he has lost his appetite and is very listless. I just awoke in the middle of the night and found him panting like he had been exerting himself greatly and his heart beat seemed extremely fast. He is 13 and has been pretty healthy until the last three weeks or so with the exception of some stiffness from arthritis. The loss of appetite and listlessness have occurred since he's been on Deramaxx. I've read about the side effects of Deramaxx, so I'm really worried. What can I do?

liver enzymes
Posted on 2008/02/22 by TeresaWilson had some sort of seizure the other day where he was unable to breathe and became very lethargic. We took him immediately to our vet. By the time we got there he was doing a bit better. He has some sort of a tracheobronchitis. As a beagle he is always out sniffing on the run-no matter how cold its been. He had taken some blood tests and all came back well but he said the liver enzymes were elevated-not high-but more than what is normal. What could that mean exactly??

Kennel Cough
Posted on 2008/02/24 by UserMy family adopted a 6 yr old male Cocker Spaniel named Bailey from an animal shelter in December 07. Checked by a vet, he was diagnosed with a 2-3/6 heart murmur and had kennel cough prior to the adoption. The cough has persisted for almost three months. A variety of antibiotics have been prescribed including Amoxicillin, Tetracycline 250 MG, Cephalexin 500 MG, and lastly Baytril #68. Lasix 50 MG was also given for the heart murmur to see if the cough was heart related. There was little improvement with any of the treatments. The cough is productive and he coughs up phlegm but usually swallows it. It is yellowish in color. Sometimes his breathing seems labored as if he's...
