  • Both males from same litter, both neutered. We have 1 acre with chickens, ducks and sheep (sheep are tethered in the garden to eat the grass). Dogs have always been good with our 3 kids (14yrs, 10yrs, 6yrs,) come back when called. They bark and guard the house when guests arrive ay house, people are weary of them but they have never harmed. However, since we all hand reared a rejected lamb - to which the dogs were friendly with and cuddled up to - When eldest son was home alone they ripped the lamb to shreds. My son was very harsh on them, but the next day we forgave them and made sure they were tethered when we were not around ( which they are used to). 5 days later...

  • Dog is drinking way too much

Hi my dog for awhile has been suffering from a urinary tract infection, we took him to the vet and they said he had a bladder stone. They said that they could give him medicine for it, and then we would buy some special food only sold by vets to dissolve the bladder stone. Only, we didn't immediately because the food cost so much. A month later and his urinary tract infection was back so we bought the expensive food but now he won't stop drinking! He once sat at the bowl for three minutes, drinking and drinking. He drank so fast the other night the bowl started to shake. Is this a result of the medicine in the food? Is this the way it breaks down his bladder stone?

  • PLEASE HELP!

My cat just sits over his water dish (as if to drink by osmosis) and sometimes I can get him to start drinking it...but when he first touches the water he kinda sneezes. I caught him sitting there earlier with his chin submerged in the water. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP HIM? I DON'T WANT HIM TO DIE OF DEHYDRATION...Please Help.

  • My Sheltie grew up with our older American Eskimo. Now, the Eskie is almost 15 and the Sheltie is 4. Most of the time, the Sheltie is so sweet, and the dogs get along well. However, it seems they get jealous when the other gets attention from me, and a fight starts. I have to break them up, and usually get a scratch or bite in the process. The Sheltie goes from Angel Dog to Devil Dog in only a second if she feels threatened about food or attention. I have them in a small 1-Bedroom apartment and have a busy schedule (I'm a teacher), and I try everything I can think of to keep the peace between them. Please don't suggest getting rid of one of the dogs -- the...

  • Butch has got terrible raised angry looking red welts on the back of his neck and in between his shoulder blades with patchy hair loss.We have had him at two different vets and they have carried out various tests but all to no avail. It was thought that this may be an infection of sorts and as such he has had two lots of anti biotics. These have not worked either. We have tried Carmosa ointment this also hasnt worked. This is now spreading and looking considerably angrier. My wife has returned to the vets today for a third time. Can you help or advise?

  • some thing wrong

WHat would cause a cat to go around in circles and flop down. Normally the cat is very active, but has seemed to have lost all ability to move quickly, can not go down the stairs, but can go upstairs. Does not know where the litter box is. Seems to have no feeling on the left side of body. Could this have been a stroke or systems of a spider bite?

  • Our middle cat Cal is our loudest cat but after the kitten (evie)came home both older cats were hissing at each other and evie. We were wondering if a cat can get laryngitis from hissing. She occasionally does a yowl now but is now sounding hoarse when she meows. We are taking our oldest cat fudge and evie to the vet (fudge had crystalization in the summer) to see if they are doing ok. Could cal have caught a virus from evie or could this be parasites. Evie has been passing gas since we brought her home but we changed her food from hard to soft due to fudge's crystalization of his urinary tract. Should I be worried about the weird sound she's making or is it...
