My pug tends to do a weird bitting...almost chatter like thing with his mouth. I tend to see him doing this only when he's been smelling something (like the bed, couch, etc.) for a awhile. He'll then start to do that weird chattery thing until he starts to force excess liquid/saliva (i think it's saliva...) onto the object he is smelling. The smell almost smells like urine. What is he doing, and is this a sign of an infection??

Cat will not eat...vet doesn't know why...
Posted on 2008/09/08 by SherryWhen I adopted my 12 year old cat, he was obese. He has lost 4.5 lbs, and refuses to eat. There have been several changes in his life in the past six months: new owner and home, packing and moving to another new home. The vet that I took him to found a lump on his thyroid, but can not seem to find a reason why the cat will not eat. Any suggestions?

Back in May of this year we suddenly lost our cat to what was later found to be a form of pancreatitis. Our cat's only symptoms were occassional vomiting. Other than that there was no cause for concern. Our other cat (the sibling of our other cat) is now vomiting occassionally too. What are the chances of this being the same condition? The other odd thing is that after almost ten year Gerber who never meowed, now meow at night all the time. He stops if you pet him. I have palpated his belly and he does not seem to be in any pain or have any masses. Our vet thinks this is meowing (the way it sounds) is a form of loss or grieving of his litter mate. What do you think?

Hi I recently adopted a Cairn Terrior NOT neutered male that is wonderfully trained - he is estimated at 7 yrs old. He constantly marks his territory inside and out - whenever he can especially if he is not under DIRECT supervision. Would neutering help?

kitten is not using litter box
Posted on 2008/10/13 by SarahI had gotten my kitten 4 days ago, and he has not been using his litter box. Instead he has been having accidents behind the couch and has been urinating on rugs and his kitty bed. The litter box I have is accessible and it is in a private location. I have showed him where the litter box was whenever he wakes up or after he eats. He has attempted to use the litter box, but does not succeed, (I see him go in it and go through the motions as if he is going to the bathroom). I have tried to put the litter box where he has accidents, however he still persists on going outside the litter box. Im all out of ideas as to how to get him to use the litter box regularly.

Sick Puppy
Posted on 2008/10/15 by UserYes, I was wondering what may be happening to my large dog that we keep inside the house. He is usually up and about and into everybody's business, but lately he has been isolated, shaky, eating grass, throwing up, and not doing any regular activities. His stomach feels hot and shaky, I'm just worried cause he has never acted this way before
