  • Gerber

Back in May of this year we suddenly lost our cat to what was later found to be a form of pancreatitis. Our cat's only symptoms were occassional vomiting. Other than that there was no cause for concern. Our other cat (the sibling of our other cat) is now vomiting occassionally too. What are the chances of this being the same condition? The other odd thing is that after almost ten year Gerber who never meowed, now meow at night all the time. He stops if you pet him. I have palpated his belly and he does not seem to be in any pain or have any masses. Our vet thinks this is meowing (the way it sounds) is a form of loss or grieving of his litter mate. What do you think?

  • Good morning! I have a kitten about 2 months old, he seems to bite our hands and feet alot.Is this just teething or aggressive behavior? What can we do to make him stop biting? These teeth are very sharp! Also I need some feedback on declawing. I hear good and bad things and I don't want to hurt my kitty in any way. Thanks for your help, it is appreciated!!!!!

  • Lethargic Aussie

Over the last two days my 9 year old aussie has become extremely lethargic with no appetite. No signs of diarreah or any other outwards symtoms. Should I get her to the vet ASAP or see if it will pass in the next couple of days? Any ideas? I am worried!! Thank You Maureen

  • I recent went to FL. and left my dog with a friend who ended up neglecting my dog. for example she left her in a cage all weekend no food water and she ended using the bathroom all over the cage. Since I have gotten her back her behavior has changed dramatically. She was potty trained very well. Now she goes anywhere and gets scared very easily and pees on herself. She mainly hides under the bed and goes there. and vomits sometimes under there to. we have a cat she would playful have fun with. Now when they play she makes evil growling sounds like it is a real fight. we have to leave her in the cage at night otherwise she pees on the floor. I want my good sweet dog back ...

  • When I adopted my 12 year old cat, he was obese. He has lost 4.5 lbs, and refuses to eat. There have been several changes in his life in the past six months: new owner and home, packing and moving to another new home. The vet that I took him to found a lump on his thyroid, but can not seem to find a reason why the cat will not eat. Any suggestions?

  • My Yorkshire Terrior is 4 years old and weighs about 15 lb. For the past couple of days it has been hard for him to walk. You can tell when he trys to walk he is in pain and sits back down and curls up. We brought him to the vet yesterday morning (Friday morning) and she wasn't positive, but said it could be a back injury like his back is sprained. She gave him medication and said to keep him calm and laying down for 10 days. She said to bring him back if it was not working...and it's only the next day, but he will cry out in pain and whine, even when sitting or laying. He also licks he bottom and goes to look and smell at it pretty often. Today he has started to do the ...

My neutered male cat had a urinary tract issue that was treated a year ago. Currently, he appears lethargic but isn't showing difficulty with urination (the telltale signal last time). What at-home checking of him can I do to try to determine if its a reoccurance or another issue?

  • Weird behavior

My pug tends to do a weird bitting...almost chatter like thing with his mouth. I tend to see him doing this only when he's been smelling something (like the bed, couch, etc.) for a awhile. He'll then start to do that weird chattery thing until he starts to force excess liquid/saliva (i think it's saliva...) onto the object he is smelling. The smell almost smells like urine. What is he doing, and is this a sign of an infection??

my cat is 16 years old and only has 2 proper teeth but this has never made any problems but now hes not eating/barely drinking and in the last couple of weeks has lost alot of weight and barely moves anymore. He also seems to have brown mucus coming from his nose and what i can only describe as black gritty stuff all over his body in his fur. He's also got 2 small lumps on his back but they don't seem to bother him. I'm really worried and want to take him to the vets but everyones telling me he's just old, should i be worried and take him to the vets?

  • Pug lethargic and shaky

My pug is shaky and lethargic, he is normally crazy excited in the morning. I did get him to eat a few little treats. Last night he ate some carrots, celery, lettuce, tomato, and tofu that fell off the table while we were cooking. All of which he has ate before (carrots are a regular treat). He doesn't appear to have gotten into anything and he isn't having any stomach problems. He won't drink water out of a cup if I bring it to him.

  • My dog has a recently started to scratches his body with his hind leg whenever we pet him in a certain spot. We found some redness there but aren't sure what it is. Could it be poison ivy or a bug bite?
