Anemia

  • kitten anemia

i think my 8 week old kitten has anemia. i was also told by a lady at a local humanitarians place that she has brain damage. she is also about the size of a 5 or 6 week old kitten. since she is so small she has gotten really lathargic and her gums are pink. i gave her a bath and she had a large amout of fleas on her. what else can i do at home since i dont have the money to take her to a vet at this time???

  • Have I made my dog sick?

I gave my dog a tiny bit (The size of a thumbnail) of a veggie patty. she has been sick with a staph infection (internal) and has been on antibiotics for a month. She is still losing weight. 9 lbs lost. she has a good appetite but is lethargic and has pale inner eyelids and gums. Vet said her RBC is now 15 and her albumin level is still high. Could that be caused from the bit of the veggie patty?

  • breathing

I have a cat that is almost 13 years old and she has been breathing funny for a long time. I mentioned this to my vet back in the summer and she thought maybe it was because it was hot. She is still breathing hard and I took her in to the vet and they thought she might have asthma. Gave me some prednisolone tablets for her but she got diarhea so I stopped them. She is losing weight I think but still eating, not coughing or sneezing. Not as active as she used to be. Talked to the vet about cutting the pill in half and trying again. Is there some way to tell if she has something else. Should I ash about getting a blood test or x-ray etc. The vet did mention that...

  • ANEMIA

I just recently found out that my 13 yr old dog has anemia. I cant get my vet to truly tell me how bad it is. How deadly is this and should I continue with the treatment or should I go ahead and have her put to sleep?

  • need diagnosis

I have been taking my 11 year old cat to the vet for the past month. She has lost a hird of her wieght in a year and is still losing. She has an appetite and gobbles her wet food. She has a UTI with blood and white cells in her urine. She has been on an antibiotic for three weeks. She also has a very low white and red blood cell count that is not improving. Her behavior has not really changed and she still acts friendly. We had a feline aids and leukemia test done and they were both negative. The vet suspects an ongoing disease process. Any suggestions? We don't have unlimited funds for diagnosis.

  • need diagnosis

Yes. She her thyroid has been tested and was normal as well as kidney fubction. The only abnormalities in the basic workup were a low white and red count. She has also been seen vomiting a thick dark substance that resembles stool. Her vet thinks in could be blood from the lower GI tract.

Please Lil Bit and I need help to get through this cause i have no idea what to do for her.

  • sick possible liver issues

have a dalmation /akita mix. He has been increasingly ill, we brought him to the vet on Thursday and by Friday he became a patient. Blood taken on Thursday came back with high and low. His skin has been yellowing, no appetite except for once in awhile. They gave him antibiotics, vitamin B, steroids, and fluids all weekend and he is getting worse. We had a ultrasound done and they found abnormalities with his liver. They went with needle and they have no conclusive result. Is there anything else I can do to help him? We up'd his steroid to Pred.

  • Deteriorating health

My 11 yo chow mix has eaten very little in the past 3 weeks. He is very lethargic, weak and thin. He shows no interest in dog food and just a little in people food. He is still drinking water good. Our local vet had him for 10 days. They put him on IVs, B vitamins, prednizone, Naxcel, Doxycyclene, and Cipro. On his initial visit his wbc count was 54,000 and when I took him home their machine could not find any wbcs. They diagnosed jaundice and anemia but nothing else. What could be the root cause of all this? I feel that he is near death.
