  • Lizard hasn't shed

We have adopted a Northwestern Alligator Lizard and have a few concerns. We purchased a twenty gallon fish tank and lined it with dirt and some rocks, and are thinking of adding vegetation to assist with slight humidity. She (we assume it's a she after some research) has a cave as well as a water dish and we feed her protein-fed crickets a few times a week. When we first got her, she shed at least once a month but since winter, has not resumed shedding. We are concerned it may be a lack of light or perhaps some missing nutrient in her diet. She is not a lizard procured through a pet store, she adopted us from the wild and decided to stick around. She eats normally, is...

  • Horsefield tortoise

Hello RE:Horsefield tortoise We have recently bought a 2 year old(approx.) horsefield tortoise, and have a question regarding this. We have noticed that he is blowing bubbles from his nose, and it has also been runny. He is not eating a lot, and neither is he going toilet. His diet consists of dandelion pelletts(we did try him with lettuce, cucumber, carrot, and dandelions, but he didn't touch them), and obviously water. I have read on the internet about runny nose syndrome, and would like your advice on what to do. His...

  • my leo gecko shed about 4 weeks ago, but he had trouble shedding the skin off his head.I moistened the area and gently pulled the excess off, but now he can't open his eyes and there is a very hard crust all the way around his mouth. i have been moistening the area but am afraid to try and pull it off. even with water it remains a hard crust. what do you think it is and what should i do to help him? i have tried to locate a vet that can help me but the closest one is a 5 hour drive. none of the vets around here even had a clue what to do to help him. i am afraid he is going to die because he has not eaten in over a week. his tail is very thin now also.i am trying to get...
