I recently adopted 2 rabbits from a local shelter. They were 3 weeks old when they were brought in and they were at the shelter for about 1 year. They have been housed together and they have been fixed. Early this morning they were chasing each other around the cage and fur was literally flying. I calmed them down, but within minutes they were at it again. I have seperated them for now. Could this be a dominance thing? Will I need to house them seperately from now on? Any advice will be welcomed.

Hello. We have jusst rescued 3 skinny female rabbits 3 days ago. One rabbit had a litter over night on the day we got them. they have all died. another of the girls has now given birth this morning (we did not know they were pregnant.) Do we need to separate the sisters whilst there are babies. Is that why the other mum seemed to pay no attention to her babaies and they died

Rabbit health
Posted on 2009/04/11 by UserI purchased 2 rabbits 3 weeks ago. One is prospering and filling out. the other is tiny and hasnt gained any weight since we got it. It seems to go to the left when it walks and sometimes its backside falls to one side. What might be the problem? Does it have something to do with its diet?

Rabbit's teeth
Posted on 2009/04/09 by UserRABBIT: I have just taken my one year old rabbits to the vets for their booster jabs and the vet checked their teeth and told me both rabbits would need their teeth rasped, filed down, (their back teeth) it to me seems slightly suspicious that both rabbits (although they're believed to be sisters and are definately the same age and breed). Is it normal for them both to get the same problem together. Apparently according to the vet there's nothing I can do any better, their diet is perfect and they're in good health otherwise. I am just concerned I am having the "frighteners" put on me to pay £200 (£100 per rabbit) perhaps twice a year for teeth trimming. ...

Rabbit with chronic upper respiratory infection
Posted on 2009/04/03 by CathyMy roommate and I take care of eight rescued rabbits from various shelters in our area. As you can imagine, we've seen our share of illness and injury with these guys. One of our older rabbits, Hazel, is around 5 years old and has been sick, on and off, ever since we adopted her. She sneezes, has white discharge from her nose, and sounds congested when she breathes. I've taken her to a very good rabbit vet several times and she's been on various medications including baytril, injectable penicillin, and azithromycin. I've been told that some rabbits just don't ever shake this thing and that she'll probably have episodes like this for the rest of her life. I'm...
