  • Dog chasing rabbit

Hi, I recently got a new dog who is 3 years old, she loves to play all the time but is very well behaved and does as she's told most of the time! I've been trying to introduce her and my rabbit to each other, taking it slowly, firstly with the rabbit in his pen outside and the dog in the garden, so they couldn't get at each other but could see each other. This was going great so next I got them in the same room together and they did really well... the rabbit was slightly wary but not really scared. However this morning I woke up to find my rabbit had escaped from his hutch (sister didn't shut it properly and has been told off!!) and when I went to pick him up he...

  • Second litter in under 5weeks

My rabbit had a healthy litter of 6 during the night of the 1st/2nd April 2009. We separated the male after finding the young on the 2nd April pm. All babies survived and are extremely healthy bunnies with new homes already secured. This morning i found she had given birth to another litter of 5 during the night! Dad is now separated with the 6 babies in one hutch while mum is alone with the new litter. Have i done the right thing in separating? The older babies have been eating independently and drinking from hutch bottle for some time. PS dad is booked in for castration on tuesday am. Any advice would be really appreciated Maxine

  • what caused my bunny to die

Hi My lop bunny (who would have been 8 tomorrow) died on saturday and i've been torturing myself about why ever since so I'm hoping you can help. She had been a bit off her food on and off during the week (would eat some of what i gave her but not all but that was not particularly unusual), seemed to slow down a lot and if i was cuddling her didn't really try and kick her legs up to get more comfortable etc but i just put it down to age as she was exceptionally friendly and docile and had been getting slower (for a couple of months if she was sat on you and you mvoed a paw she tended to just leave it there and if she was on her side it took her longer to get...
