Dropped at my feet.
Posted on 2008/08/25 by Stewart StewartCan a baby jackrabbit be saved after an attack by a cat? labored breathing, compromised abdominal area, but breathing on its own, and very scared. Will this animal recover on its own?

Breeding/Pregnancy
Posted on 2008/06/15 by Ali PetersonI have a male & female rabbit (7mo. old). They had babies on April 8. After separating them, I had the male neutered 4 days later. I obviously didn't separate them in time because they had 3 more babies on May 8. Yesterday (June 14), the female became somewhat aggressive and began building a nest. Her nipples appear to be larger and it appears she is pregnant. I'm wondering several things: 1) is it possible that the vet didn't neuter the male correctly 2) The babies would have been between 5-6 weeks old -- can they mate when they are that young? 3) What about false pregnancy?

My sneezy bunny
Posted on 2008/05/27 by UserWhy does my bunny sneeze so often? Her nose isn't necessarily running, but gets a bit crusty and tiny bits of green are stuck on her nose. She sneezes numerous times in a row. She's also very kissy, I hope it's her being loving and not her trying to tell me she's in trouble.

Tooth Root Abcess in aging rabbit
Posted on 2008/05/01 by Cheryl GlossMy 12 year old rabbit has a tooth root abcess which the vet said would be too expensive and traumatic a surgery to put him through. In January she drained the puss from his cheek and put him on antibiotics. He had terrible diarreah on it but I gave it to him all the way through and cleaned him up everyday. He is old and has other health problems, Arthritis, blindness, etc. She suggested putting him down but I will not do it. He is enjoying his life, eating, drinking etc. But his eye is now excreting the same white substance from the abcess and I am cleaning the eye the best I can with eye solutions. Do you know of anything else I can do for him? If I call her she might su ...

cranberry juice for rabbit?
Posted on 2008/03/24 by mandy cmy rabbit at first didnt eat or drink much that was about 3 days ago.now he's eating but still not drinking much, not like he use too. he lays in the corner of his cage and doesnt move much, untill i take him out of his cage to see if he'll run around, which he does. he usually drinks from a water bottle so i switched to a bowl to see if it makes a difference,it doesnt really. i've been searching the internet for some advice and someone told me you can mix water with some cranberry juice to see if he'll drink, but i would rather have a second opinion..please help

pooping out side the cage
Posted on 2008/03/02 by Cathy YeeWe have had Baby since she was 6 wks old. We keep her inside the house. We let her out of the cage frequently for exersice. For the first 4 months, everything was great. She only pooped when in her cage and only peed in her special potty box. About 2 weeks ago she started pooping outside of the cage as soon as we let her out, about a week ago she also started peeing on our rug. So we have had to keep her in her cage much more then we would like to. Even when she is in her cage she does not always pee in her potty box like before. I have notice that some times her pee is a reddish orange color, sometimes there is a milky color to her pee and sometiems it is normal ...

lump in cheek
Posted on 2008/02/17 by E BLast night I was petting my rabbit and I've noticed a large lump on his jaw, right under his R eye. He is eating fine, I can touch it and he doesnt seem bothered. I can add he seems to be obsessed the last week with chewing the carpet, no matter that as soon as he does he's sent back into his cage for the rest of his day. When we let him back out he heads straight for it again.(yes, he is an indoor rabbit). What could cause this lump and should he be brought immediately to the vet or is there something I can look into myself? I look foward to your answer. thank you
