Swollen Fetlocks / lameness
Posted on 2009/07/16 by UserHi, I have an 11 yr old mare. She had laminitis in 2005 but is fully recovered. I use her for light hacking, but have not been able to ride her much over the past year due to work commitments. A few weeks ago I began to spend more time riding as I noticed that she was becoming overweight again. Yesterday I went on a 2 hour hack, and half way around I noticed that her hind fetlocks kept 'buckling' - giving way as if she had trod on a stone or something. It was only one every ten minutes or so. This morning I went to get her in from the field and her hind legs are very stiff, with both hind fetlocks swollen. Her left hind fetlock, when trotted, does buckle occasionally....

4 year old stud colt pony
Posted on 2009/07/02 by UserWe are looking at a 4 yr. old stud colt pony to let my son break for a goat tying horse. He is a nice looking no scars, but when he walks his back left leg seams to lock up. After you walk him around it gets better, but he lifts his leg a little high and if you turn him it seams to lock up again. Can this be fixed where this pony could be used in rodeo events or will this always be a problem?
