Guinea pig crusty sore
Posted on 2008/03/09 by Alison ThompsonMy guinea pig has a sore on her head between her eyes. There is a hard white crusty sore and the hair around it has fallen out or been scratched off by her. She also has what we were told were tumors on her two front "ankles". We were told by her previous owner that there was nothing to do about these, but I mention them in case there is a connection.

Eye protrusion
Posted on 2008/02/29 by UserHi, I just adopted a new guinea pig from someone on craigslist. It arrived this morning and I realized right away that one its eyes was protruding a lot and it was red/pink. It looks extremely painful and uncomfortable. I was not notified of the situation before hand, and I don't know how long it has been like this. Do you know why this may have happened? I can take a picture if it will help.

Losing hair
Posted on 2008/02/19 by Joan CorseMy guinea pig has recently starting losing some of his hair on both sides of his tummy. He also has little scratches and his skin looks dried out. We have a cat so did he hurt him? Should he be checked out by a vet?

introducing guinea pigs
Posted on 2008/01/07 by SARAH BRAINI have recently got a 6 week old female guinea pig as company for pudding (her old cage mate recently died at the age of 7 and 1/2). Pudding seems interested in the little pig and will lie with her at times then other times she nips her and chases her around the cage. I am keeping them in seperate cages at the moment but have them next to each other, and when i am with them i put them both in the main cage. Why is pudding nice one minute then nipping and chasing the next?
