Can Tapeworms exist in MY environment?
Posted on 2008/11/13 by JamieHi! I have tendencies to obsess over germs and stuff so now that my dog has a case of tapeworms I am wondering if they are able to thrive outside of her? I'm waiting for a prescription of Drontal Plus to be called in, but in the meantime are these creepy crawlers running amok in her bedding?? (ew or MY bedding??) Thanks in advance!! :)

neutering complications?
Posted on 2008/11/11 by DaniMy puppy Freddie was neutered on Friday. It is now Tuesday and he is increasingly uncomfortable. He whines and squeals and tries to lick at the incision so he's been wearing the e-collar ever since the surgery. I took him to the emergency clinic on Sunday but all she could offer was pain meds. Took him to the vet Monday where they kept him all day and administered pain meds as well. Now he's home, gave him the codeine and the other medicine (something-cam?) but he is still in a lot of discomfort. Could it be something other than just post-op pain? He seems to be getting depressed now because he is helpless to relieve the situation. His appetite has been good until dinner...

hip dysplasia?
Posted on 2008/11/07 by UserI have 2 Australian Shepherd dogs (1 litter apart, same father), one that's almost 6 months and one that's almost 2 years. I'm concerned that the 6 month old might have signs of hip dysplasia. He started to limping yesterday after playing around on the house with the other dog (they're constantly playing in the house and outside). It currently looks like he's tender on his left front foot. We think he might have hip dysplasia because he's always limped around for a minute when first waking up, it's like his legs are asleep. And now after playing he's got a constant limp which gets more pronounced after relaxing. Are there any steps we can take at home to...

Licking paws
Posted on 2008/10/30 by Usermy labrador constantly licks his paws, we have checked them and there is nothing sore or in them and he can walk on them perfectly and I think its a habit thing, is this normal? I have heard it can be due to anxiety? Is there anything I can do?
