Blood in the Urine
Posted on 2009/02/19 by kimI have a cat wgo has blood in her urine for several months now. My vet has done an ultrasound to check for crystals. nothing. Also took a urine sample, by needle directly to the bladder. She has three rounds of antibiotics, one of baytril, two of zeniquin (Had to stop one, half way thru) because she started vomiting, i think a mix of flagyl and zenniquin together. Flagyl for giardia. My questionis the vet has really not told me anything except. she has no bacteria, in the urine. She is still peeing blood, though much less. what would you reccommend my next step to be.

Cat with tail bite
Posted on 2009/02/16 by UserHI My cat was bitten on the base of its tail by another cat. I took him t the vet who cleaned him up and sent him home. The vet said if his tail doesn't start moving it will have to be amputated. The tail did start moving but the wound is still open on top. He keeps licking the ointment off and gnawing at the wound. He even took his own stiches out. I tried to take him to the vet again but was told that he wouldn't be able to see me until Saturday (its monday) and even then he scheduled me into a surgery spot because he thinks the tail has to be amputated. But the tail moves fine, and he hasn't even seen the cat!!!! He seems amputee happy and I do not want the vet...

Retained Testicles
Posted on 2009/02/09 by WendyI have a 17 month old Siamese cat who has retained testicles. He has been operated on both in the abdomen and in the groin area when he was 6 months old but the vet was unable to find either testicle. For the past few months he has been spraying indoors and we are at our wits end what to do with him! He has also had the hormone tests to determine whether or not he is producing testosterone, these tests only confirmed what we already knew! I feel that my vet is not interested in trying to help ... I don’t think the sprays etc will help as he never seems to do it in the same place twice. We have tried spraying him with water ... shouting and throwing him outside when...

Response to original doctor's reply.
Posted on 2009/02/01 by UserTeddy's urinary tract is fine along with no hyperthyroidism. He ate very well after coming back home. His weight stabilized and even gained some. All his values have been brought into range except our vet was concerned about his 3.7 rating in potassium, thus the fluid injection into the ringers bag plus he sent us home with some powder which we give him mixed with water. Thank you very much for your quick response to our first letter/question. Thank you again.

Cat sudden weight loss and lack of...
Posted on 2009/01/31 by UserHello, our cat had renal failure last August, we took "Teddy" to a animal hospital and they gave him tests and lactate ringers solution to get rehydrated. All the levels came back to just about normal. This past week, my wife noticed Teddy getting dehydrated again so she took him to the vet and they gave him more fluid and additional blood work. When she brought him home, Teddy was very alert and active. Now, he has not eaten for the last few days as we continue to give him the ringers fluid. The vet put potassium fluid in the bag for preventative reasons due to a low/normal range of 3.7. We have given him 2.5 mgs of pepsid twice a day, but still no appetite....
