  • My dog Annie is a 7 yr old part dalmatian. We got her from the SPCA. She seemed fine until last year. She throws up and constantly licks her behind. She has had all her shots, including lyme disease. She throws up alot, licks her behind and is losing a considerable amount of weight. We took her to 2 vets and they couldn't figure out why. She did have whip worms and we gave her the medications for that, but she still is throwing up and sometimes skids on her behind. What should we do? Cynthia Clark

  • Diabetes

I have a 13 week old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who was diagnosed with diabetes Tuesday. He was placed on Vetsulin at 1 unit per day. He is only receiving a shot once per day. His sugar, after 3 days on insulin, registers on the urine test strips as over 2000. My vet does not know what to do at this point and neither do I. Any suggestions. Oh, he weighs about 2 pounds. He is eating good now but is still drinking an excessive amount of water and has very frequent urination.

  • Injury to Hind Leg - Horse

My mare was kicked in the leg approx. 5 weeks ago. It required stitches and antibiotics. The wound got infected after she tore out a stitch, but this was controlled with cleaning. The wound closed about 2 weeks later, and the leg swelled. This was treated with antibiotics. The wound then "popped" open again - revealing proud flesh. This was removed by the vet. Since then (it has now been 2 weeks since proud flesh removed) the wound has not closed and has large local swelling, and small discharge. Horse does not have temperature, is eating normally and is not lame.I have been advised to wash it with warm salt water. Pls let me know if there is a better way to...
