My cat has recently started dragging her water dish across the kitchen tile, and will often try to drag it over the small ledge at the doorway to tip it over. She does this even when I have just washed and put fresh water in her dish. She also has recently taking a liking to me putting ice cubes in her water. That is fine but the dragging is driving me crazy as she does it all hours of the night & day. Why is she doing this?

family dogs have killed three of our sheep
Posted on 2009/06/09 by UserBoth males from same litter, both neutered. We have 1 acre with chickens, ducks and sheep (sheep are tethered in the garden to eat the grass). Dogs have always been good with our 3 kids (14yrs, 10yrs, 6yrs,) come back when called. They bark and guard the house when guests arrive ay house, people are weary of them but they have never harmed. However, since we all hand reared a rejected lamb - to which the dogs were friendly with and cuddled up to - When eldest son was home alone they ripped the lamb to shreds. My son was very harsh on them, but the next day we forgave them and made sure they were tethered when we were not around ( which they are used to). 5 days later...

Sheltie agressive toward older dog
Posted on 2009/09/06 by UserMy Sheltie grew up with our older American Eskimo. Now, the Eskie is almost 15 and the Sheltie is 4. Most of the time, the Sheltie is so sweet, and the dogs get along well. However, it seems they get jealous when the other gets attention from me, and a fight starts. I have to break them up, and usually get a scratch or bite in the process. The Sheltie goes from Angel Dog to Devil Dog in only a second if she feels threatened about food or attention. I have them in a small 1-Bedroom apartment and have a busy schedule (I'm a teacher), and I try everything I can think of to keep the peace between them. Please don't suggest getting rid of one of the dogs -- the...

Behavioral Problem
Posted on 2008/01/29 by UserI have two 6 year old cats (male and female/both neutered and spayed) who have lived together peacfully until now. My female suddenly overnight has become very aggressive towards my male cat. Biting, scratching - as if she wants to kill him. I'm at a loss. I have an appointment with my vet on Friday, but they are currently separated. Have you ever heard of this and any advice you can give would be appreciated. Thank you, Debbie P.

Eating pattern and barking
Posted on 2008/01/31 by UserBonnie is having regular exercise & is as lively and happy in herself as she always is - but the last few days she seems to have gone off her food. I have tried coaxing her from hand to mouth and even with different foods - but she is having none of it! Any ideas? The only slight thing that she is doing which is out of character for her is that her energy levels seem higher wanting more attention than normal and barking when she doesnt get it!

Howling Behavior Problem
Posted on 2008/01/31 by UserWhat would cause an otherwise healthy cat to randomly howl at inanimate objects? He will sit in front of walls, the washer and dryer, the corner of the bathroom, etc. and howl at it.
