  • recent trouble

choco was laying on the floor it appears as though he fell. he looked like he was having a siezure though had dry mouth. he was wiggling alot, i calmed him down by laying next to him on the bed petting him. after the next few which had time between of about 20 min of the same symptoms after witnessing what seems to be uncontrollable muscle spasm like you would see in a siezure there were groans from abdominal area right before hand right before the last two i tend to notice there was a stomach rumble that happened, in which made me believe he wasnt having siezures but it seemed like he was just in extreme pain which made him do the "fish" i walked him outside...

My puppy (9 months) has been vomiting and having diarrhea for the past week - week and a half. It even went as far as doing it in his cage which he has NEVER done.. not even when he was a puppy being trained. Other than these two things happening, he is fine. He is eating and drinking water...he is playful and has alot of energy.. i do know that he plays with grass and twigs.. but it has never been this bad for this long. What else could it be???? Thank you

  • My dog is not eating

My dog is not feeling well. He is not eating and seems depressed, and mucous is coming out of his back teeth that drools out of his mouth. His teeth are in pretty bad shape. This has never happened before and I would like to know what's wrong.

  • Pregnant? and infection?

My Pitbull and boxer recently got in a fight on sunday night, ive noticed recently that my pitbull's mood has changed and i think its possible shes pregnant, she was in heat about 3 weeks ago when we left for the beach and my neighbore was watching her and said she wasnt sure but thought she may have gotten pregnant with another pit. How can you tell?she seems to have gained a little weight and i think her nipples have started to sag a little.. and also on sunday night, she got in a fight with our boxer,it was a puncture wound, and i cleaned it up but now it was starting to heal and it popped open and bloody puss came out, it was a hard lump, and looked swelled with...

  • PKD??

Hi. We have a 13yr old Doll Face persian who has started exhibiting some strange behaviour. She has increased thirst, low appetite and has difficulty climbing stairs. When picked up she complains. She seems to be favouring her rear end and just wants to hide away. i am concerned this may be late stage PKD. Any ideas? Thanks, Martin.

  • Sucking Behavior

Mark, I am impressed with your responses to people's problems. I have a 3 year old Sheltie who displays sucking behavior towards me and my mother. We are his primary care-givers. Sucking is only one of his behavior issues, but he frequently sits on us or next to us and sucks on our clothing as if he were nursing. We have never been able to figure out why. I think that he was taken from his mom too early in life. He is very content when he is sucking on us. He doesn't make holes in our clothes, just sucks and nibbles with his front teeth. Any idea why he does this?

  • Excessive "proestrus cycles"

My Boxer is 10 years old. She has been going into heat every two months for the last year. What can I do to stop this bloody discharge from coming so frequently? When she does go "in heat" The bloody discharge lasts about 2 1/2 weeks and then a dark greenish yellow discharge for another week or so. It smells really bad and happens to often.

  • Puppy Training

I just got myself a new puppy, she's a large breed. I'm thinking that she's a Husky/Boarder Collie. Umm, I'm not having much for problems with her attitude, or with her accepting the rules of the house. We have four cats, one of whom is still not yet a year old, as well as two 9 & 12 years old dogs. The older dog a mother to the youger dog. I could potientally be at work for close to thirteen hours on occasions. My question is, How do I manage the rules of the house while we are at work. (Staggering schedules at work is not an option) I was thinking about a crate but I think that sitting in a crate for 8 to 12 hours just isn't humane. I could keep her outside but I...
