my dog ate dark chocolate with macadamia...
Posted on 2008/12/25 by UserMy 10-month 15lb-ish pomeranian-poodle mix got into my christmas stocking and ate a 3.52oz/100g hershey's "extra dark" chocolate bar with cranberries and macadamia nuts. He's been vomiting, has a very strong, very fast heart rate and his body is trembling. Is there anything that I can do to make him better? I know chocolate and macadamia nuts can both be toxic and I'm terrified and very unsure of what to do.

Puppy with broken canine
Posted on 2008/12/25 by UserHi my 7 week old puppy broke her canine tooth just below the gum line a few hours ago the pulp is exposed she is eating drinking and showing no signs of pain..the info online is very varied and i am already concerned about the fact that i havent taken her to a vet as its the holidays i really dont want to bother them but i wondered if you could tell me how urgently she needs to see a vet thanks

We have a 9 year old female black lab/collie. She had vaccinations in early November and has not been the same since. She first lost her appetite in eating her dog food and we have tried all types since then. She does eat dog treats. we are reluctant to give her tabel scraps, but that is that she is eating. She is drinking lots of water. She has recently become bloated and has very little energy.

Birth of Chihuahua pup
Posted on 2008/12/26 by UserMy dog, Hershey, had a pup this morning! Baby and mom seem to be doing fine. Except the baby still hasn't suckled, and it's been two hours since its birth. Should I worry about that? Also, will this be it, or can we expect another one later today? The placenta came out after the baby was born. Should I take them to see our dogs' vet? The mom is panting. I'm unemployed. I'm worried about Hershey and the expense of going to our vet.

second opinion
Posted on 2008/12/26 by UserNeed a second opinion- my 10 year old lab was diagnosed with auto immune and put on prednisone- she is sick all the time now- vommits several times a day. She eats a lot and she seems miserable- seems like she cannot swallow- no heartworms per vet- xray showed food buildup in stomach and she seems like she coughs a lot so they gave her antiobotics- they want to wean her off pred but I am wondering is it stomach related instead of auto immune- she is so pitiful and her quality of life is eat, throw up and sleep- thanks!!
