What's wrong with my cat?
Posted on 2008/10/04 by UserMy cat just doesn't look right. He seems to have lost weight. His fur looks rough, wool-like. He has this discharge from either his nose or his moth. I'm not sure if it's blood or drool or what. Any idea what might be wrong?

Sore on Snout
Posted on 2008/10/04 by JacqueWe just discovered a big leathery welt/patch on our dog's snout, picture attached. It was covered in hair and black crust and the hair came off as soon as I began to clean it up. There is no obvious entry point and it is hard and leathery, like a spider bite, it really itches Angelo. He went swimming in the ocean (Del Mar) last Friday (one week ago) and had a bath afterward, no sign of anything then, and since then has acted normal, but has been itching his face quite a bit. Is this a hot spot, or a fox tail, or a spider bite? It has an obvious edge to it, raised up and still with a little crust on the edges, since I didn't shave away from the patch. But it is not...

My cat was acting fine on Thursday but on Friday he started acting sick. He won't eat and all he wants to do is lay around. When he walks he acts like he has no energy and almost falls over and he hasn't gone to the bathroom either. He has been twitching really bad and usually he loves going outside so I took him outside and he just started meowing and wanting back in the house. I kept him out there and he tried to hide in the corner on the porch. I haven't taken him to the vet yet but do you have any idea what might be wrong with him?

reaction to flea/tick treatment
Posted on 2008/10/05 by UserI treated my two dogs with Sergeant's Gold flea and tick sqeeze-on treatment. Both dogs showed signs of sensitivity so I wahed the treatment with mild soap and water as advised on the packaging. One dog is fine. The other has scratched her neck/shoulder area so much that she has two bld spots. The larger is weeping and irritated. What can I put on the areas that will soothe the skin so it wll heal?
