My dog, Gracie, is very sick tonight. I'm taking her to the vet in the morning but I'm a little nervous about her tonight. She has been throwing up since I fed her a new type of food tonight and she has also been having very watery bowl movements all night. She has tried to go so much that now there seems to be a little blood in her stool. Could it be from her pushing so much? I'm a new dog owner and I'm not sure if i should call the emergency vet or just take her in the morning. Could it be food poisoning or a bad reaction to the new food? very concerned here.

Daisy's urine is ruining the lawn at our new house. I've heard of a supplement called "green ums" which contains amino acids & b vitamins among other things that break down the nitrogen in the urine/feces. Have you heard of this? If so, should it work? Are the ingredients safe for long term? I've also heard of something called a "pee post", which is a stake treated with pheremones that you put into the ground where you want your dog to "go". What's your opinion on these things? Help!!

Back in May of this year we suddenly lost our cat to what was later found to be a form of pancreatitis. Our cat's only symptoms were occassional vomiting. Other than that there was no cause for concern. Our other cat (the sibling of our other cat) is now vomiting occassionally too. What are the chances of this being the same condition? The other odd thing is that after almost ten year Gerber who never meowed, now meow at night all the time. He stops if you pet him. I have palpated his belly and he does not seem to be in any pain or have any masses. Our vet thinks this is meowing (the way it sounds) is a form of loss or grieving of his litter mate. What do you think?

Frequent Urination and Drinking Water
Posted on 2008/10/04 by HeatherSebastian has been to the vet and they ruled out diabetes, diabetes insipidus, kidney stones and bladder stones. He drinks a lot of water, constantly and urinates a lot. I got home from work tonight and he had urinated on the floor and couch. He was all wet, where he had urinated all over himself, I guess in his sleep! Any ideas? The vet wants to test for Cushings Disease next.

Eating Grass
Posted on 2008/10/05 by Joanne1 year ago, my dog was vomiting & it was found that he had a ball of grass in his stomach that he couldn't pass. I saw the xrays & it looked like a ball of yarn. He had surgery to remove it. Exactly 1 year later, he starting vomiting again. We took him to the ER at 3 a.m. Within 5 mins. of looking at his xrays, the doctor was talking surgery again. This time it was not a ball of grass but I could see the strands of grass in the poorly taken xrays. She mentioned surgery again & financially, unless it was life or death, we couldn't afford the additional $3,000 surgery. Intravenous & $1,000 later Rudy went home. The doctor sent us home with canned dog food -...
