I have a boxer who is 9 years old. This is the third boxer we have had (best dogs in the world) He has a problem with dragging his left leg and has lost strength in his leg. My vet has put him on 100mg of Rimadyl Chewables - 1 1/2 tablets once daily for 30 days. He took x-rays and said it could be spinal problems but that he has never seen this in boxers. He does not whimper or cry in pain. In fact he still gets excited for his walks every day. (3 - 10 mins. walks a day) I have also started giving him 1 - 500mg of (human) glucosamine every day. Is this safe? and will the Rimadyl help give him strength to his leg? help - we love our dog so much.

We have a 14 year old male cat who has been throwing up every day for the past couple of weeks. When he throws up, it sometimes contains hairballs, sometimes it is partially digested food or just liquid. We have been grooming him daily as well as at least twice a week giving him Laxair. Could you please advise what we need to be looking for or any other symptoms? (When we contacted our vet, he recommended the grooming and Laxair, but things do not appear to be getting any better.) Thank you, Anita Beeson atb053092@aol.com

butt scratching
Posted on 2008/09/16 by UserI have a 2 year old pug dog and she keeps scratching her butt on the carpet. It did have a sour for a couple of days but I put animal save on it and it got better. She has always scratched her butt on the carpet since she was about 6 months old but now she is doing it a bit more. What is causing her to need to scratch her butt and is it normal?

possible patella luxation
Posted on 2008/09/17 by UserPeanut within the last couple of weeks has been holding up his right hind leg occasionally. This would happen and then a few minutes later her was ready to run, jump and play as if nothing was wrong. I was worried about patella luxation so took him to vet @ banfield and she did a physical exam and said his knee seemed fine, maybe it was just a strain. After about a week this is still happening about 2-3 times a day. The other day he did this when he hiked his leg to urinate. Is this something I should be concerned about or give him time and see if he heals? He is only 10 mths old and don't want him to be in pain. He does not wimper or anything when this happens. ...
