My 10 month male, neutered, corgi mix has 103 fever, lots of blood in stool, pain trying to walk, x-rays show no blockage in stomach or intestines, small intesting is severely inflamed and irritated and stool tested negative for parasites. Vet suggested doing bloodwork for the liver.... what could this mean? He is dying? Thankyou

My Baby Chico
Posted on 2008/08/28 by JoyceI'vewrote in before about my 4 year old male Jack Russell Terrier. He chews on his feet and always looking at them like there are something on them and there's not. I've got him on a flea treatment and he doesn't have flea's or worms at all. The vet has gave him shots for him chewing and said it was a alergy. I've had him on benadryl and it doesn't help. You said it could be anzied. Where can I go and get the medication for that. Maybe at petsmart. I've also go spray medicated antiseptic spray to see if it would help. I don't want to have to put him to sleep because he's my baby and I love him so much. Please help me!! Thanks, Melissa

Still bleeding neutered 7 days ago
Posted on 2008/08/28 by UserWe had our kittens (born April 6) neutered a week ago. One is fine. The other looked red, raw, and literally a little inside out as soon as we got him home. I called the clinic right away and asked about it - they said he had been checked before discharge and that likely anything we were noticing was because he is light coloured. I was not so sure, but the next he had a scab (albeit large) where the incision had been and so we thought all was well (he was also totally himself, playing, eating, drinking etc.). Sunday he started to bleed a bit - we called the clinic who said to watch for a few hours and see if it stopped - they thought he likely pulled the incision open...

Excessive scratching (continued)
Posted on 2008/08/26 by erici have been hitting him with a monthly flea and tick treatment. i started on 50mg of antihistamine last night. i have done a lot of research and for a 70lb dog 50 mg every 12 hours seems to be acceptable. is there anything more i can do? is this a proper dosage for the diphenhydramine hydrochloride? how many days should i try this to see if it is just an allergy? lastly, i have been using rubbing alcohol on his open wounds, is this ok? i really appreciate your help, thank you so much!

Throwing up & not eating
Posted on 2008/08/26 by UserMy 11 month old bichon threw up bright (neon) yellow watery vomit this morning and has not eaten all day. He did eat regularly yesterday evening. He's also been laying down and not moving much at all. He doesn't feel warm -- his temperature feels ok but he does shudder every once in a while. Is this something serious and should I take him to the vet?
