  • Spine Problem

Dear TeleVets, I desperately need your advice! Our rescued LabMix 4yr old Sandi has suddenly lost the use of her rear quarters and we are at a loss at what to do. She initially went down about 4 weeks ago and our Vet initially diagnosed her with inflammation of the sciatic nerve. Treatment was rest and steroids for 2 weeks. Upon removing her from the steroids she seemed somewhat better but started going down hill quickly. Again the vet put her on steroids to get her mobile but also recommended taking her to a specialty clinic for further testing. We immediately took her there and after a myolegram that was normal and $2,200 later we still know nothing more. The...

  • Research Paper

I am currently working on a research paper on the effects of ultrasound therapy on animals. I have been able to find some pretty generic information on this but I would like to know if you know of any wildlife or exotic animals that this therapy has been preformed on, the reason for the treatment, and the overall outcome. If you could help with any little bit of information that would be great.

  • swollen nose

Yesterday, when I left for work he was fine when I came home his nose was swollen and he didn't want to eat but did. He and the other dogs have access through their dog door to the backyard that is fenced as well as their own room in the house when I'm at work. The nose appears to be swollen on one side and there is running of the nose and some sneezing. I gave him a benydrl last night and he seemed to rest easier. Do you think it could be a bug bit...there are numberous bees and wasps outside. I didn't see any puncture at the sight. He finally ate for fear the other dogs would eat his food but was resting most of the time. What should I do to care for him and how...

  • My puppy got sick

I came back today after being gone for about a half an hour and my five month old puppy had vomited all over the apartment. There was a large amount in one area full of food which had to of been from yesterday as he has barely touched his food from this morning, as well as 3 or 4 smaller areas which were mostly mucus with small amounts of food in it. He had also pooped an excessive amount. Most of it was solid but there were small amounts of diarrhea. His diet hasn't changed and I was wondering what may have caused this. I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident of an upset stomach or if I should seek veterinary assistance in person.
