ideas for max
Posted on 2008/02/25 by UserMy 7yr 62lb golden Max went to the vet 10days ago with symtoms of not eating, shaking, hind legs seem painful. He has trouble getting up and going down stairs and bending down to go to the bathroom. They took Xrays and he did show a very small amt of arthirtis in lower back and in hips but nothing major. They also did a blood test and all of his organs showed in good health. He has been on antibiotics and rymidal since and it seems like nothing has changed. He will seem like he feels better for a few hours and then we are right back to where we were. I have another appt for him this week but is there anything you can think of that I can bring up to his vet to check...

What are the directions for dipping with Paramite
Posted on 2008/03/05 by BurlaMy 94 year old mother adopted a rescue dog (Rosie) about a month ago. She scratches constantly and sometimes whimpers when she scratches. I took her for a check up and the vet found no fleas, etc. There are no obvious spots to check for mange. I was told to give her Benadryl to see if it helped. It did not. We had a prescription for Paramite from an earlier dog and I dipped her with that solution. Unfortunately I have lost the directions except to use 1 oz. with 1 gallon of water and sponge onto the entire body. How long do I need to wait before I dip her again? How many times should I expect to dip her before I can stop? Do you have other suggestions?

2 labs, one just died/ the other dealing with loss
Posted on 2008/04/09 by UserJust lost our Male chocolate lab last night. That is difficult as it is... but we have a black Female lab who is now alone outside. The two grew up together for 11 years. What, how do we care for her? She's been barking and whining and very nervous/pacing. I dont know what to do, do you have any suggestions? How can she deal with this loss. It's hard for me, but she's the one who's spent day and night for 11 years together with him. Thank you for any help, as soon as possible.
