We adopted a 10 week old kittens yesterday (5/24/08) from the local humane society. He had a distemper shot on 5/16/08 and tested negetive for feline luekemia. He was neutered on 5/23/08 without complications. Yesterday, (5/24/08)he was sneezing occassionally. Today, his sneezing is more frequent with occasional discharge and his eyes are watery. He is eating well and playing, but sneezing a lot and seems a little wheezy, though he is breathing through his nose, not his mouth. As it is a holiday weekend, I'm concerned about waiting until Tues. (5/27/08) to contact a vet. If this is, however, something that should be addressed immediately, I'd like to know so that I ...

Itching ears
Posted on 2008/05/23 by UserWe have a 10 week old Rottweiler. The 2 days he's been moving his head around to shake his ears and pulling at them with his paws. When I rub his ears, he calms down like that soothes him. When looking in his ears, we couldn't see anything. We are taking him to the vet next week for more shots but I don't want to have him suffer anymore. Is there a way to clean his ears or is that a sign of something? Any help would be great - thank you

Please help, my yorkie isn't acting like himself
Posted on 2008/05/14 by UserMy yorkie has been acting lethargic, shaking and whining. I am really worried he is hurt or sick but I can't tell exactly what is wrong with him. He's also not running around and playing like he normally does and is snapping at the other dog. He was fine this morning, but it's now 5 pm and my husband says he's been like this since he came out of his crate at 9:30 this morning. What should I do?

Vaginal Infection
Posted on 2008/05/14 by Melissa JacksonOur cat had 4 kittens almost 7 weeks ago and the smallest I notice doesn't have a tail and it's back legs do not function like they should. She just drags them behind her most the time. Right away we noticed she had puss and yellow fluid coming from her vagina. It seemed to be getting better but recently it is a lot worse. Just a moment ago I picked her up and noticed her vagina is REALLY swollen and I pressed on her belly and infection ran out of her vagina. We can't afford to take her to the vet. What other options do we have in treating her? Would clinic take her and treat her for free or keep her? I am so worried

Is it ok to feed cats dry food? Is it ok to leave food out all day for them (cats) or should it be taken away after morning feeding? Thanks

runny/stuffy nose
Posted on 2008/05/12 by Liden JoyceMy golden retriever, 18 months, has a runny stuffy nose. He has been licking his nose so much he has irritated the skin between his nose and mouth. When he sleeps you can hear the snot bubbling in his nose. He is not coughing or sneezing, just trying to snort the snot out. He is eating normally, plays normally, poops normally. HIs eyes are clear and his ears are clean. Any ideas? My other dog, an older golden, is not showing any symptoms after four days so I assume it is not contagious.
