Tried to send question before but no record of question being sent so sending again, so sorry if this is a dup. Will be online for the next 20 to 30 mins but will be online again tomorrow. Up until a few months ago my cat has been of good weight even though he throws up occasionally (prev vets said it was due to chronic hairballs). In Oct 2006 I had a baby and because I was breast feeding did not have much physical contact with Fraidycat except to pet him on the head. A couple months ago I finally took some time to just down and just love on him since I felt like I had not paid him proper attention in quite some time. Well, I noticed that he had lost way too much...

cat not going to the bathroom
Posted on 2008/02/07 by emilybeen to the vet, was told UTI, put the cat on antibiotics for 10 days, gave a dose of buprenex at the vet to releive pain. he was fine for 2 days doing his business no pain. Started back with the howling after peeing and straining to poop. Vet gave us 6 doses of buprenex to be administered 2x a day every 12 hours. started that yesterday and he has not used his litter box since. what should i do continue with the treatment or call the vet again in the morning.

Puppy Depression?
Posted on 2008/02/07 by JamesWe recently got a new puppy. A white lab, approx 4-5 months old, judging by size. She was a rescue. The lady we got her from found her on the side of the road. She took the puppy to the local Vet and got her first set of shots and worm prevention. The problem is that the puppy seems very withdrawn and 'depressed'. Is there something I can do or need to do to help her acclimate to the new environment, or should I just let her come around on her own? I'm a little worried about her, she seems almost traumatized. Thanks.

Posted on 2008/02/08 by SherryMy 9 month old beagle got into the trash while we were away today so hard telling what she ate and now she has vomited a couple of times and is excessively drooling. Do I need to take her in or is this just a tummy ache from eating who knows what?

sneezing
Posted on 2008/02/08 by Gina and RomanWe just adopted 2 cats from a shelter on Sunday. They are sneezing and one has a yellowish nasal discharge which is kind of thick. Both are eating, drinking, playing, and breathing normally. Please advise us on what to do.

Sensitive stomach
Posted on 2008/02/09 by MarleneI have 4 cats. Natasha, 15, and Stanley, 6, often have foamy vomit. Natasha does have periodic fur balls that can be 3-5 inches long. I have never seen Stanley bring up a fur ball. Natasha throws up almost everday. She is a little cat around 7 lbs. Stan is a large cat around 15 lbs. What may cause their stomach problem? Thank you. Marlene
