I have a very active Jack Russell. For about a week now he is having difficulty jumping. He is six years old. When I pick him up he winces. He usually can jump over 4 feet.

swollen genitals & itch
Posted on 2008/03/17 by UserDo dogs get yeast infections? My 9 year old female Sheltie has swollen genitals and she seems to get itchy. She has never been spayed. Hydrocortizone spray seems to help, but is there anything else I can do for her?

Loss of facial muscle mass
Posted on 2008/03/17 by Travisabout 6 months ago Wrigley started losing some muscle mass in his face. At first I thought it was just the extra exercise that he was getting, but the muscle loss has continued. The muscle above the eye socket, below the jaw, and near his ears continues to decrease. My local vet could not come up with any diagnosis after doing blood work, but did not think it looked healthy. Do you have any suggestions to what might be going on? Thank you.

Too many symptoms
Posted on 2008/03/17 by DanielleMy 6year old baby (Chiefers) hasn't been doing well since I left home. My mother called after she took him into a vet - the Doctor wasn't in so he saw the intern. He came back with these symptoms.. Slightly enlarged heart and liver, extremely high blood count, high enzyme, spine problem, he lost 20% of his body mass, he wont eat only drinks water but it doesn't seem like he swallows it, hes running into walls and can't clear a door-way, and the x-rays showed a spot in his stomach. But the intern knew NOTHING. I'm in Alaska, he's in California.. He's NEVER had a health problem and all of this happens at once, this isn't a dog, he's my baby boy. I haven't the slightest...

Cat licking when scratch rump
Posted on 2008/03/17 by TomWhen I scratch my cat on the back on the spine near her tail, she licks as though she cannot help it. The more you scratch her the harder she licks. She will lick whatever is within reach of her tongue, and if you try to hold her head, her tongue goes crazy. She doesn't groom herself excessively and doesn't have any other problems I know of. Is this just a crazy quirk or could there be a hidden problem.
