My puppies left eye is red a and a little bit swollen and i cant afford a vet. What do i do?

Posted on 2009/04/26 by UserI was prescrobed previcox for my 51 lb dog Sadie for post operative purposes. I read in the directions to give minimum dosage of 2.27 mg per lb. They prescribed her 227 mg per tablet for 3 days. My math tells me that's off but I don't know what to do and I will never take my dog back to that vet. Can you please help. I also don't know if I am to wait 2 hrs or 24 hrs to administer the dose and have no written intstuctions. Please help.

my cat is still bleeding after surgery
Posted on 2009/04/16 by Hagerhi my 8yr old cat had a bladder cancer and she to go through surgery last saturday,my vet said that there s no need to worry she s clear now,and he removed her uterus too be more safe kind of!at the moment she s on antibiotics.is it normal that she still has blood in her urine today being wednesday?thanks in advance x x x

Posted on 2009/04/25 by Userhi, my yorkie is heavily prgnant scan showed her to be crowded, she had a c section with last litter after a pup was dead and stopping 2 others from coming home , this was not an intended pregnancy but did not know until few days ago, thought she was having phantom ,but took her to vet as she was being sick is it possible for her to deliver herself or will she require another c section pleas advise very worried for her

Ben rescue cat could be 10 maybe 14. Developed completly blocked nose 1 month ago. Spluttering whenever eating or drinking,mouth breathing, no discharge from eyes ears or nose at all. lack of appetite ?due to loss of smell ? some weight loss and loss of normal bounce. has had full blood picture, no diabetes kidney probs etc. slight rise in white blood count. has been wormed and flea treated. up to date with innoculations. has had two lots of antibiotic and steroids. Also was over grooming and had hair balls vomited up.2nd steroid inj for skin raw areas and scabs now better. He is not ok. Still mouth breathing , obvious blocked nose.have had to change diet from dried...

Large mushy lump on dog.
Posted on 2009/06/06 by MeghanMy dog is a 7 year old cockapoo. I just recently found a large, mushy lump on his back/shoulder area that hasn't been there before. After shaving the hair off there was a tiny red bump near this spot. Seems to have a little pain when getting up from laying down on that side. DOn't know if this info is needed but just a week ago had a rabies shot in this general area of the lump. I don't know if I need to make a trip to the vet or just leave it a few days and see if it shrinks or grows. What to do?

Posted on 2009/07/05 by Usermy 6 yr old ferret is very ill, my vet want see us till tomorrow and I think he is not going to make it.he is very weak cant move his hind legs very well, when he does move is only a short distance before he falls, he is sleeping more than normal, l he could not use the bathroom, then he did and it is a black tar color, he had bloook around his rectum. my vet told me to give him pepto bismol, gatoraid, and chiken broth, please at least someone tell me what it might be, and if he is passing away how to make it easier on my family and my other ferrets and animals

dog injury
Posted on 2009/07/05 by Userdog hit by car 10 days ago. traumatic injury to rear paw, no brken bones. Skin and tissue damage with sutures. Was told to clean and change bandage once a day and keep covered with plastic. on day 4 returned to vet due to really foul odor. Was then told to leave plastic off and cleanse and change bandage once a day and continue antibiotic. Now in day 10, paw looks worse than ever, and bleeding more. please advice on different treatments to try
