We kept this hamster for about 2 1/2 weeks and during that time he lost quite a bit more hair. The hair loss was kind of in stripes across his back and he was scratching some. The skin was dry and a little bumpy too. There was a few spots that looked scabby like he bled from the scratching. We took him back to the pet store and they inspected him for mites, but did not see any and had never seen hair loss like his. They thought it may be allergies to the bedding, but he lived with non-allergic paper bedding before we got him and had already...

foot sores
Posted on 2008/09/15 by CathySara has sores on her paws. The front 2 are spots with dark skin. The back 2 are now red and inflammed. She licks them. After she started with these irritations she also got an ear infection. Could this be an allergy or a yeast infection?

Since then this has become hugely infected, and the infection has spread to lesions across his entire body. He has had the abcess on his face operated on three times in the last 4 weeks by the vet and been prescribed a range of antibiotics to try and combat the infection. His body condition has hugely deteriated and has been with te vet on a drip for the last 48 hours. he has been tested for leuakemia and feline diseases, but to no avail. Are there any other options available to us or any other possible diagnosies. If you require any...

Eye Problem?
Posted on 2008/08/24 by UserI have a 5 year old female german shepherd/husky mix, and I've recently noticed that the whites of her eyes are really red, and she has a greenish goopy discharge coming out of them. What could this be, and how would I treat this? Thank you for your time, Joanie
