I have a manchester terrior about a year old, she has all the sudden started having random seizures, for about 30 seconds then she is fine, I was reading on line that these dogs are known for having seizure disorders,if i pick her up she calms down again. she is doing something wierd,we have been struggling with her to go to the bathroom outdoors which she has refused to do, now she has a seizure, she goes right to the door i take her out and she goes. ?? could someone have beat her before we got her or something, maby she was scared to go? I have been laid off and don't have the money to take her to the vet or i would be there right now with her. help

Smokey's Meds
Posted on 2008/08/29 by EmilySmokey was diagnosed with hyperthyroid, and liver disease(2 to 3 weeks ago). She was initially prescribed methamazol (2 a day) and denamarin (1 a day). The beginning of this week we cut down the methamazol to 1 a day because we think she is allergic due to excessive scratching and grooming. Does this sound correct? Another thing is the past 2 days Smokey has thrown up her denamarin. The first day she threw up the pill with a hair ball. This morning however, it was just the pill and the pill pocket. The weird thing is, I gave her the denamarin last night at 8pm. At 9pm I gave her the methamazol and some wet food. I went to bed at 11pm and she haden't thrown up yet. I...

Posted on 2008/09/02 by Rebeccamy cat is 16 years old and only has 2 proper teeth but this has never made any problems but now hes not eating/barely drinking and in the last couple of weeks has lost alot of weight and barely moves anymore. He also seems to have brown mucus coming from his nose and what i can only describe as black gritty stuff all over his body in his fur. He's also got 2 small lumps on his back but they don't seem to bother him. I'm really worried and want to take him to the vets but everyones telling me he's just old, should i be worried and take him to the vets?

Dog keeps scratcing at wound
Posted on 2008/09/10 by kimWe recently discovered that my dog has flea allergies. We have put both of our dogs on Revolution, and have gotten rid of the fleas in our home. My dog still scratches a lot and has scratched so much on her neck that there is now a wound. This happened about a week ago. I clean it with hydrogen peroxide every few days. However, she keeps scratching at it and causes the scab to come off and bleed. I have tried tying a cloth bandage on her neck, but it always comes off after a few hours due to her biting at it. Do I need to take her to the vet for the doctor to look at it or is there something I can do at home to help her get well?

My cat has been sick for the past 2 1/2 weeks and she keeps getting worse. She has lost a bunch of weight, she is very weak, and she won't eat. I took her to the vet about 1 week ago and he didn't really know what was wrong with her. He said that her intestines were hard and he gave me some worm medicine just in case that's what is wrong with her. I gave her all the medicine and she has only gotten worse. I have been force feeding her milk so she can get some nourishment but she still won't eat and keeps getting worse. Do you have any idea what might be wrong with her?
