Jaw Broken?!
Posted on 2008/02/24 by EMILYi gave my dog max a jumbon, one of those rawhide treats, and noticed that he was bleeding badly, so i took it away... now his bottom right jaw is swollen and there is a large bump inside his mouth... there is also a pretty nasty odor that i didn't notice before... i'm just wondering if this could be a broken off tooth, or could his jaw be broken?

I've only had wilma 5 days, she came from a rescue centre where she had recieved a dental check up and had 1 tooth removed and another drilled. She drools more than i've ever seen any cat, often she has long drool trails hanging from her mouth. Last summer he developed major gum problems about 2 months after having his teeth cleaned for the second time in his life. He has been on "Revolution" for the past few years 10 months out of the year. The vet put him on Denamarin since a blood test showed lower liver funtions then what he should have. He was drinking 6 to 7 cups of water in a 24 hour period. After being one the Denamarin now for 4 months his water consumption is down consistently for over 2 months to 2 to 3 cups of water per 24 hour period. Posted on 2008/02/20 by UserLast night several times one of my cats made a weird noise(I'm sorry, I don't know how to describe it) that he'd never made before. Today he has been lying in one of the litter boxes throughout the day. He has never done this before. I don't think he has eaten anything today. I found regurgitated food (undigested) this morning. He let me pick him up but seemed tense. What should I do or watch for? He let me touch his extremities and pet him and I didn't find anything unusual.
