  • swelling

My 12 year old husky developed a swelling behing her leg. The first vet I took her to said it was cancer just by touching it and refused to help further. After nearly a year she was still healthy, but the swelling grew. I took her to a vet in another country who said that it felt like fluid, drew a sample and found that it was just blood and wasn't too concerned except for the fact that she obviously has a leak somewhere. She drained about a third of it and my dog has been happy and healthy since then. However, whenever she goes under stress, it swells up again, and if she goes through periods of calm, it diminishes in size. Have you heard of this before and what would...

  • stuffy nose and spasms

My 13 year old Lhasa Ahpso does what I have heard refered to as a backward sneeze. Her throat spasms, she tries to get air in and cannot. If I can get her to relax, it goes away. Now she struggles as her nose will run, then plug (sound stuffy) , the spasms are bad! Do dogs get colds and what can I do? Cathy

  • ill rat

i have a dumbo rat who is about 1 and a half years old. over the last few weeks she has developed small lumps over her body, not like the fatty lumps my previous rats have got. she seemed a bit bloated so i took her to the vet on wednesday who said he could only find one growing lump and she should be fine for now. but since then she has deteriorated quite a bit her weight is hanging off her bones, she is more tired and weak. she is still interested in food even though she is struggling to eat more solid items and is still coming out of her cage. i dont want to just give up but having many pets before, i recognise the pattern and wonder if i should take her back to end...

  • Allergic Reaction

My dog ate something last night and her face swelled up. It started with her mouth and two hours later spread to her eyes. This morning her face is back to normal after giving her Benadryl but her ears have swelled. Is the allergic reaction working its way out, or is this something I should take her to the vet for other medication?
