Inguinal hernia in 8 wk old puppy
Posted on 2009/01/22 by ErikaI have an 8 week old female great dane, who had an inguinal hernia and emergency surgery. They removed part of her small bowel and repaired the muscle, she is recovering well so far. My question is, what is the likelyhood that she will have problems in the future with hernias? Also before we noticed the lump, we did notice that she would always lean on something (ie; rock, fence) when she went poop. I now think this had to do with the hernia, do you think she may have some other underlying issue?

Posted on 2008/12/28 by UserMy shitzu has had 4 puppies on Dec 26th. She has panting lots after giving birth. She has been very good other than that. I am just wonding if I should be worried at all about her. She seems to be find, but I never noticed her pant like this before. She does seem to be a little warmer than usual. How can I be sure that she is just warm or if she has something seriously wrong with her. And I also don't have a way to check her temperature. What else can I do?

The day after the purchase I wormed him and gave a 18 ml shot of LA200 (antibiotic) but he is still doing poorly. Is there anything else that I need to do? He eats a little but not much.
