Guinea Pig Problem
Posted on 2009/08/10 by MelI have 2 guinea pigs and have noticed that one has small black shiney lumps on one of his ears and the other has similar on one of his ears and a circle shaped patch of hair missing off his shoulder that is dry and looks raw around the edges similar to a ringworm on a human. I wormed them today. I brought them 2 and a half months ago. They are approx 6 months old but the one with the missing fur is a bit older. Could they have mites? If not, what might it be? They are not off their food or water at all.

Posted on 2009/04/03 by BevCookie is almost 5 years old now and recently recovered from URI and is eating and drinking, but ive just noticed that she looks really misserable, all she wants to do is sit there staring into space instead of running round with my other guinea pigs, her eyes are slightly more closed than usual, is she ill again or is she dipressed?

Guinea Pig Foot Injury
Posted on 2009/04/06 by JenMy guinea pig Velma is nursing her front left foot. She can't seem to put any weight on it at all. She has not been dropped or injured to my knowledge. She does have a piece of like dead skin or callus hanging off her foot pad. Her toes have always been really gnarly and her nails curly. I've always kept them cut fairly short because of this. She is very fat and is having a lot of trouble moving around on 3 feet. My local vetrinarian does not know a lot about guinea pigs, so I'm hoping that you can help me please.
