post surgery infection
Posted on 2009/03/07 by Usermy lab is about five months old and had his dew claws removed 3 weeks ago. the vet removed the stitches but one did not heal and is infected. he is on antibiotics and i am keeping it wrapped so he can't lick or bite it. i am just wondering what i can use to clean it and if i should put neosporin on it?

Stomach Rash
Posted on 2009/01/06 by UserMy Chihuahua has what appears to be some sort of rash on the middle/center of her stomach that goes down the sides of her stomach and part way down the insides of her back legs. It is brownish in color and is kindof crusty, almost like a scab (might be hard to see in the pic). It doesn't seem to bother her, every once in a while she might try to scratch it, but doesn't seem to be a big problem. It started very small on her stomach a few months ago (and just looked dirty) and gradually got bigger (baths don't seem to make a difference). What could it be? What should I do about it?

I have a 6month old lab-mix puppy. I have just noticed over the past couple of days that his left eye has been particularly runny with a goopy discharge. He also itches alot but I don't believe that he has fleas because I have given him flea baths and combed him. I have read online that both of these symptoms could be because of an alergy. I have recently changed his food from the science diet that he was on at the shelter I adopted him from to Innova, an all natural dog food. Could this be causing a problem? Should I take him to the vet?
