I have been trying to switch my cat to biodegradable litter. I followed the bags directions and put the new litter under neath some of the old litter. He will pee in the box and them step outside to do his doody. THis has been going on for several weeks now and I am frustrated, I am trying to be environmentally conscious but he's being stubborn. I have tried punishing him by putting him in the litter box while I clean up the mess and then I spray him with water, he's not getting it. Sometimes I pick him up and spank him (not too hard of course). Do I have to go back to the old litter? Let me know if you need any more info about the situation. Please take in mind that...

Humping Rabbits
Posted on 2009/02/20 by melanieI have two rabbits and two guinnea pigs who all live together in a two story house at the bottom of our garden. The house has a dog flap in it so the rabbits can come and go as they please during the day and are locked up safely at night time. The problem I have is the oldest rabbit who is now about eighteen months old. She is constantly humping the other female rabbit which you can see is annoying her. The fur on her hind quarters looks a bit tatty as the other rabbit has run her paws over her and pulled out some of the fur. I have checked for scratches and any wounds which that are none. Why is she doing this and is there anything I can do to stop it. The...

Cat Losing Weight - vet can't diagnose
Posted on 2009/02/27 by UserHi there, I'm hoping you will be able to help me. I'm not sure where to turn to next. Thanks, in advance, for listening... (it's sort of a long story - my apologies) We moved to Florida from Indianapolis on Jan 5 this year, and we brought our 3 cats - Rocco, Bella, and Louie. Bella and Louie are fine - no problems. Rocco is a different story.... Ever since we got here, he has been keeping to himself. He doesn't associate with the other cats, and barely with us. (He used to be Mr. Friendly, Mr. Sociable.) He has taken to sleeping on the floor of the bedroom closet quite a bit. At first, we thought that maybe he just was having a hard time adjusting to the new...

puppy not getting better
Posted on 2009/02/27 by TessI took my 9 week old puppy to the Vet about 3 weeks ago because we woke up in the morning and there was blood everywhere. His anus looked like it was coming out of his body, and it was purple.. the Vet said this was very bad. well, in order to get everything back in, he had to have stitches. which have not healed. he keeps getting feces stuck to the stitches, and even if i try to keep him clean at all times. this does not stop. It sticks on it, and I cannot get it off. because it is stuck to the stitches i do not want to pull or try to hard to get it off. My question is , could this be preventing the healing of his suture. and is there a better way i could control this?...

Please respond ASAP, VERY VERY WORRIED
Posted on 2009/02/28 by ShaunaMy cat has been acting very strange lately and it is very worrisome. She acts like she does not know us anymore and is not playful like she usually is or as cuddly. She used to sleep at the foot of our bed and lately it seems like she cannot get up onto our bed. She also has been hiding in corners and really keeping to herself. She at times has been limping and when(if at all) she plays with our kitten she tends to meow alot more like she is in pain when they are playing. Today she like tripped over her own feet and fell for no reason. She even hid behind our refidgerator? I am very worried about her because we have had her for 8 months and she has never acted like...
