Yorkie - Diarrhea and Vomiting
Posted on 2009/01/27 by WhitneyMy yorkie (named Boo) started acting strange last night and today he’s had diarrhea nonstop and just threw up (bright yellow). I tried giving him a “cookie” (his favorite dog treat) and he wouldn’t eat that. I’ve also tried to give him water and he didn’t drink. I have a full rx of metronidazole the vet gave me when we were traveling over the holidays. Boo sometimes gets sick from stress when he travels and since we were going to be done for 2 weeks I asked for something just in case. He did fine on the travel and we didn’t need it. Should I give him the metronidazole or should I take him to the vet to have his stool tested? Or should I wait until...

whining and restless dog
Posted on 2008/12/22 by Useri have a 6 yr old female, blue healer terrier named Jake that likes to whine and does not sleep well at night. Is there anything i can give her to help calm her down and help her sleep at night? I take her out to potty before going to bed and she seems to be waking up 2-3 times at nite and whines for attention. I have tried the squirting with water, spanking her nose and just plan harshly telling her to quit and ignoring just makes it worse till she finally gives up and will eventually go to sleep. please help..

Dog with skin condition
Posted on 2008/12/23 by UserMy dog has been having a skin issue for over 5 years now. He's been taken to the vet and they put him on steroids, with no relief. Specifically, he is constantly licking all of his paws (he is licking so much that hair in these areas are not growing back), he constantly scratches his arm pit areas and ears, he is extremely red in his arm pit areas and groin area, he has bad dandruff all over his body, and he tends to shake a lot. He is licking and scratching so much that a foul smell eminates from him. He gets a bath once a week and will begin itching/biting/scratching right away and smells within 1 day after the bath. The dandruff also appears 1 day after the bath. ...

Cat urinating
Posted on 2008/12/29 by UserI have had my cat for 5 years and he has never urinated anywhere other than his litter box. The past 2 weeks or so he has been peeing in my guest bedroom on the bed. I bought him a new litter box thinking maybe that was why but it hasn't helped. We have not changed anything in our lifestyle to make him upset(at least I don't think). I have heard they pee places when something is wrong or when they are upset. Do you know how I can fix this in my cat?
